About the Role

We are looking for a Testing Engineer / Technician to join our R&D team. The person will be responsible for testing electronic, instrumentation and IoT-based products, identifying technical issues, documenting test results and supporting the R&D team in product development and validation.

The role involves a combination of hands-on testing, troubleshooting, measurement and documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform testing and validation of electronic and instrumentation products.
• Test PCB assemblies, sensors, transmitters, controllers and communication interfaces.
• Carry out functional, performance and reliability testing as per defined test procedures.
• Use laboratory instruments such as:
• Digital Multimeter
• Oscilloscope
• Function Generator
• DC Power Supply
• LCR Meter
• Insulation/Hi-Pot tester, wherever applicable
• Test analog and digital signals such as 4–20 mA, 0–10 V, pulse, RS-485 and digital I/O.
• Test communication protocols such as Modbus RTU/TCP, RS-485 and Ethernet.
• Perform sensor testing and calibration for parameters such as pH, conductivity, chlorine, turbidity, DO, TSS, COD/BOD, etc., as applicable.
• Conduct environmental, burn-in and stress testing of products.
• Troubleshoot hardware, wiring, communication and functional issues.
• Support engineers during prototype testing and product validation.
• Prepare test setups, test reports and maintain test records.
• Identify failures, reproduce problems and provide clear observations to the R&D team.
• Support FAT, field testing and customer-specific validation, when required.
• Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of testing equipment.
• Follow ESD, electrical safety and laboratory safety practices.
• Assist in developing and improving standard test procedures and test checklists.

Technical Skills

Essential:

• Basic understanding of electronics and electrical circuits.
• Good knowledge of voltage, current, resistance and signal measurement.
• Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams and datasheets.
• Hands-on experience with electronic test instruments.
• Basic troubleshooting skills for PCBs and electronic systems.
• Understanding of sensors and instrumentation principles.
• Good documentation and reporting skills.

Desirable:

• Experience with RS-485 / Modbus RTU/TCP.
• Knowledge of 4–20 mA instrumentation.
• Experience with sensors and transmitters.
• Basic knowledge of microcontrollers and embedded systems.
• Experience with IoT devices and Ethernet/GSM communication.
• Knowledge of calibration procedures.
• Basic understanding of standards such as IEC, CE, EMC, IP rating, NEMA, etc.
• Experience with environmental or reliability testing.
