Job summary

Roots Group is seeking a seasoned automotive development engineer in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, to handle part development across 2W/3W/4W or LCV, and drive PPAP/APQP, tooling, and process validation activities.

The role requires hands-on experience in plastics, metal machining, welding, coating, painting, and tool monitoring, plus supplier process audits and 8D problem-solving capabilities.

Qualifications

• Experience in part development for 2W/3W/4W or LCV.
• Knowledge of PPAP, APQP, tool development, and process proving.
• Familiar with plastics, rubber, vacuum forming, injection molding, and machining.
• Knowledge of welding, fabrication, powder coating, and painting.
• Experience in tool monitoring, maintenance, validation, and life monitoring.
• Experience conducting supplier process audits and closing actions.
• Hands-on problem solving using 8D and QC Story.
• Knowledge of PFMEA and control plans.

Functional Competencies / Skills critical for thejob

• Should be having part developmentexperience in following Automobile Applications e.g. 2W/ 3W / 4W or LCV
  
• Good understanding ofdifferent processes of NPD-part development. (PPAP / APQP / Tool development& Process proving)
  
• Knowledge of Plastics and Rubber, Vacuumforming process, Injection molding and machining processes
  
• Knowledge ofWelding,Fabrication, Powder coating and painting processes
  
• Knowledge of Tool Monitoring (Tool maintenance, Tool validation and Tool life monitoring)
  
• Well experienced in conducting processaudit at supplier end and follow up actions for effective closure
  
• Hands on experience in Problem solvingthrough 8D, QC Story approach
  
• Knowledge and experience in PFMEA &Control plan
  

Requirements

Experience:5-7 years

Industry Preferred: EV / Automotive 2w,3w,4w / Auto Ancillary Tier1, Tier2

Qualifications: B.E/B. Tech–Mechanical/Automobile/Production
