Job summary

Simple Energy in Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu, seeks a Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) specializing in mechanical components to drive supplier quality and ensure component conformity to specifications and standards.

You will collaborate with procurement, engineering and manufacturing, develop suppliers, implement QCPs, and analyze quality metrics to reduce defects and achieve PPAP/APQP compliance.

Qualifications

• Graduation in Mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T, drawing interpretation, and metrology.
• Experience with PPAP, APQP, FMEA, and control plans.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement quality plans for PMSM motors and components.
• Monitor torque, insulation resistance, cogging torque, and NVH.
• Lead supplier audits for magnets, stator cores, rotors, windings, and encoders.

You Will

We are seeking a highly motivated Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) specializing in mechanical parts to manage and improve supplier performance and ensure the quality of purchased mechanical components. The ideal candidate will work cross-functionally with procurement, engineering, and manufacturing teams to develop suppliers and ensure components meet required specifications and industry standards.- familiar in Casting forging, machining + Prop. parts

To Be Successful, You Will Be Expected To

• Quality Planning & Assurance :
• Define and implement quality control plans (QCP) for PMSM motors.
• Ensure compliance with IATF 16949 / ISO 9001 standards in motor assembly and component inspection.
• In-Process and Final Quality Monitoring:
• Monitor and analyze key metrics like torque consistency, insulation resistance (IR), cogging torque, and NVH performance.
• Conduct root cause analysis for torque loss, vibration, abnormal noise, or thermal issues.
• Supplier Quality Management:
• Evaluate and audit suppliers for magnets, stator cores, rotor laminations, winding wires, and encoders.
• Work with suppliers to resolve component-level quality issues and ensure PPAP/APQP compliance.
• Failure Analysis & Field Complaints:
• Lead teardown and investigation of field returns or warranty failures.
• Work closely with R&D and manufacturing teams for problem-solving using 8D/Why-Why/FMEA methodologies.
• Process Improvement:
• Use statistical tools like SPC, MSA, and Six Sigma methods to improve yield and reduce defects.
• Identify opportunities for quality cost reduction and reliability improvement.
• Documentation & Reporting:
• Maintain quality records, inspection reports, and deviation logs.
• Prepare quality dashboards, CAPA reports, and participate in internal & external audits.
• Networking :Interface with engineering, procurement, and manufacturing teams to resolve quality issues efficiently.

You must have any or a combination of any of the following skills:

• In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, casting, welding, and forming.
• Education Qualification: Graduation – Mechanical
• Strong understanding of GD&T, drawing interpretation, and metrology.
• Experience with PPAP, APQP, FMEA, and control plans.
• Proficiency with quality tools (8D, DMAIC, SPC, MSA).
• Familiarity with ERP systems and quality management software.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
