Job summary

Tata AutoComp Systems Limited in Pune is seeking a Quality Planning lead to drive APQP for new product development, ensuring CSR compliance and adherence to IATF 16949 standards. You will plan PPAP submissions, coordinate proto/pilot/SOP trials, and lead Cp/Cpk improvements while collaborating with Design, Manufacturing, and Supplier Quality teams to ensure robust processes and launch readiness.

Additionally, you will conduct risk assessments, support design reviews, and apply RCA/8D

Qualifications

• Experience leading APQP activities for new product development.
• Ability to prepare and review Quality plans, Control Plans, PFMEA.
• Familiarity with CSR requirements and IATF 16949/ISO standards.
• Experience coordinating PPAP submissions and trial builds (Proto/Pilot/SOP).
• Skills in process capability improvement (Cp/Cpk) and risk management.
• Experience in design reviews, feasibility studies, and risk assessments.
• Proficiency in root cause analysis methods (8D, Why-Why, Fishbone).
• Experience with Poka-Yoke and preventive actions to ensure zero-defect launches.

Job description

1. New Product Quality Planning

• Lead and execute APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) activities for new

product development.

• Prepare and review Quality plans, Control Plans, Process Flow Diagrams, and

PFMEA.

• Ensure compliance with customer-specific requirements (CSR).

2. Product & Process Validation

• Plan and execute PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) submissions.
• Coordinate trial builds (Proto, Pilot, SOP) and ensure quality readiness.
• Drive process capability (Cp/Cpk) improvement and validation.

3. Cross-Functional Coordination

• Work closely with Design, Manufacturing, Supplier Quality, and Production

teams for smooth project execution.

• Participate in design reviews, feasibility studies, and risk assessments.
• Ensure quality inputs during design and process changes (ECN/ECR).

4. Problem Solving & Risk Management

• Lead root cause analysis (RCA) using tools like 8D, Why-Why, Fishbone.
• Drive mistake-proofing (Poka-Yoke) and preventive actions.
• Track and close all quality concerns before SOP.

5. Documentation & Audit Readiness

• Ensure proper documentation for APQP, PPAP, and project milestones.
• Prepare for internal and customer audits during development and launch phase.
• Maintain records as per IATF 16949 / ISO standards.

6. Launch Quality Management

• Ensure zero-defect launch readiness.
• Monitor early production performance and drive improvements.
• Reduce customer complaints and warranty issues.
