Job summary

Mahindra and Mahindra Limited in Chennai seeks a senior Quality Lead for New Product Development. You will drive quality planning, APQP/PPAP processes, risk analyses, and dashboard reporting while coordinating with Product Planning and Program Management to meet product timelines.

You will apply 7QC tools, FMEA, DVP/DFM/DFA, and Power BI dashboards to monitor readiness, drive improvements, and ensure reliability targets across programs.

Qualifications

• B.E./BTech (Mechanical/Production/Automobile) Engg.
• 07–09 years of experience in mechanical/production/automobile engineering.
• Competencies: customer-centric thinking, teamwork and communication.
• Hands-on experience with AI tools and dashboard creation using Power BI.

Responsibilities

• Adequate knowledge & Experience about New Product Development Systems & Process (Vehicle).
• Lead and Coordinate the Quality Planning activities in NPD Projects.
• Assess and report status of all deliverables in gateways.
• Proficient in 7QC-tools, FMEAs, DVP, DFA/DFM, APQP, PPAP and Risk analysis.
• Experience using AI tools for analysis and dashboard creation.
• Improve product quality and customer satisfaction via PDCA of past programs' lessons learnt.
• Monitor virtual validation deliverables such as CFD, CAE simulations during concept phase.
• Assess vehicle and system-level validation (Functional, Performance, Durability).
• Collaborate with Product Planning & Program Management to capture latent customer needs and ensure timely quality delivery.
• Conceptualize and upgrade quality systems in NPD while benchmarking industry best practices.

Responsibilities

• 1. Adequate knowledge & Experience about New Product Development Systems & Process (Vehicle).
• 2. Lead and Coordinate the Quality Planning activates in NPD Projects.
• 3. Responsible for assessing and reporting the status of all the deliverables in each gateways.
• 4. Good knowledge in Quality Tools such 7QC-tools, FMEAs, DVP, DFA/ DFM, APQP, PPAP and Risk analysis.
• 4. Experience in using AI tools for analysis, drive better resutls and creation of dashboards.
• 5. Improve the Product Quality & customer satisfaction through PDCA of pervious Programs Lessons Learnt.
• 6. Monitoring the Virtual Validation deliverables such as CFD, CAE simulations etc. during concept phase.
• 7. Effective assessment of vehicle and system level validation such as Functional, Performance and Durability Tests.
• 8. Working closely with Product Planning & Program Management to capture customer latent needs and ensuring Quality delivered as per timelines.
• 9. Conceptualize and upgrade Quality systems in New Product Development Process while continuously benchmarking best practices in the industries:-
• . To plan and define roadmap for implementation of Quality systems for the various projects.
• . To imbibe quality culture in the CFT/CDT through regular interactions and quality workshops.

Key Deliverables

• 1. Formulation of Quality and Reliability Targets for New Products, timely Product evaluations to assess gaps and driving corrective actions.
• 2. Generating Quality status to Senior Management by highlighting Quality Red alerts and proposing contingency plans.
• 3. Assessment on Engineering, Manufacturing, Supplier and Service readiness based on MPDS gateway requirements.
• 4. Driving Teams towards implementation of various Product and Process improvements identified during build & Validation phases.
• 5. Preparing the Reliability Growth Analysis (RGA) reports based product validation concerns and establish the MTBF values against the targets.
• 6. Prepare and implement the Quality Evaluation plan in various builds.
• 7. Preparation of Product and Process Risk assessments and monitoring for effective closure.

B.E/ B Tech (Mechanical/Production/Automobile) Engg.

07 – 09 Years - B.E/ B Tech (Mechanical/Production/Automobile) Engg.
