Job summary

Valmet in Chennai is seeking a Structural Design Engineer to execute steel-structure design for large industrial projects, including boilers, evaporators, pipe racks, and auxiliary structures, with STAAD modeling and detailed engineering.

You will apply Indian and international design codes, develop engineering calculations, and support project delivery, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure quality and on‑time results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
• 6–15 years of experience in structural engineering or related field.
• Strong knowledge of Indian and international design codes and standards.
• Sound understanding of steel structural design principles and connection design.
• Hands-on experience with STAAD for structural analysis and design.
• Experience with Tekla and AutoCAD is advantageous.
• Ability to work independently while coordinating with cross‑functional teams.
• Experience supporting project delivery with focus on quality, productivity, and continuous improvement.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Identify project risks, implement quality processes, and support successful project completion.
• Guide, coach, and develop reporting engineers and designers within your area of responsibility.
