Valmet Technologies Private Limited, Chennai, India, seeks an experienced Process Engineer to lead design and engineering activities for power boilers and gasifiers. You will perform detailed calculations, prepare specifications, and support sales with technical clarifications.

The role requires 5+ years in process engineering, strong boiler/system knowledge, and proficiency in English. Travel to customer sites and tech units is expected as needed.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering from a reputed university.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in process engineering.
• Strong knowledge of process design for steam boilers and auxiliary systems.
• Solid understanding of heat transfer, heat and mass balance, and chemical stoichiometric calculations.
• Working knowledge of ASME and EN standards related to piping, pressure vessels, and process engineering requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
• Experience with AutoCAD is an advantage.
• Knowledge of COMOS is an advantage.
• Business-fluent English proficiency.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites and technology units as required.

Responsabilidades

• Lead process design and application engineering activities for power boilers (CFB, BFB) and gasifiers.
• Perform process and design calculations for power boiler systems.
• Prepare technical specifications, deviations, and clarifications for proposal documents to support sales activities.
• Develop technical specifications for auxiliary equipment and conduct technical bid evaluations (TBE) for supplier offers.
• Create and maintain P&IDs, perform pipe sizing, pump capacity calculations, and define valve and safety valve specifications.
• Prepare and maintain pipeline lists, valve lists, and equipment lists.
• Provide engineering inputs for instrumentation and control valves/dampers.
• Collaborate with customers and cross-functional teams to conduct HAZOP studies.
• Partner with suppliers to support product localization activities and evaluate technical solutions.
• Support customers, erection teams, and commissioning teams by resolving technical queries and troubleshooting issues.
