Job summary

Toshiba Transmission & Distribution Systems invites applications for a Power Transformer Field Service role. This position involves managing field operations across the transformer life cycle, including erection, maintenance, testing and commissioning, with direct customer support.

You will supervise installation of high‑voltage transformers, troubleshoot technical issues and ensure safety and quality at sites. Willingness to travel nationwide and overseas is essential.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in erection, testing and commissioning of EHV power transformers up to 765 kV class.
• Strong troubleshooting capability and exposure to transformer failure investigation.
• Knowledge of oil analysis and preventive checks for transformers.
• Understanding of asset management activities and ETC contractor evaluation will be desirable.
• Awareness of basic transformer design aspects and transformer testing equipment handling.

Responsibilities

• Take individual responsibility for material verification, unloading, erection, testing, commissioning and service activities at assigned customer/project sites.
• Supervise installation, testing and commissioning of power transformers up to 400 kV and 765 kV class.
• Demonstrate sound knowledge of EHV power transformers and accessories, including 400 kV and 765 kV class transformers.
• Attend and resolve customer complaints and service-related issues.
• Troubleshoot transformer-related technical problems and support failure investigation and resolution.
• Prepare ETC plans and execute erection activities as per approved procedures.
• Report daily site activities and work schedules to the office.
• Ensure compliance with safety, statutory/regulatory and product quality requirements.
• Complete erection checklists during ETC activities and maintain required site documentation.
• Oversee component replacement activities and preventive checks for transformers.
• Conduct toolbox meetings and participate in site safety audits; ensure strict adherence to site safety standards.
• Coordinate with customers and ETC contractors at site and maintain effective communication.
• Willingness to travel across India and overseas as and when required.
