Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Design transformer mechanical components, tank and externals, ensuring compliance with factory limitations.
• Ensure designs meet IEEE/IEC/IS standards and project guidelines.
• Prepare customer documents, manufacturing drawings, and bill of materials per schedule.
• Coordinate design activities across a global factories network and participate in internal design reviews.

Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - Power Transformer

How You’ll Make An Impact

• The success candidate will be the part of an International Design and Engineering Team specialized in design covering different countries.
• Responsible to generate Tank & Externals meeting factory limitation, guideline, and checklist as per IEEE / IEC /IS standards.
• Responsible for Preparation of Customer documents, Manufacturing drawings, Bill of materials etc & submission to customer as per project schedule.
• Understanding of Transformer mechanical design, Thermal, Dielectrics, Short circuit and sound performance and transformer mechanics
• Coordinating design activities within a worldwide factories network.
• Participation in internal design concept reviews.
• Demonstrated team building skills and networking skills, would be a preference.
• Ability to speak with and work together with the technical teams in different parts of the world.

Your background

• B.E / B. Tech Mechanical Engineering.
• Having a good experience of standardization.
• 9 to12 years of experience working in Mechanical design for Power Transformers manufacturing Industry. Candidates with higher experience also to be considered.
• Knowledge on CAD software, any 3D Modelling software is a must. Creo & PLM is considered as an advantage.
• Should understand Transformer Design, Mechanical Calculations, Dielectrics, clearance/creepage, basic layout and cleats lead arrangement.
• Should have good understanding of IS/ IEC /IEEE Standards/Canadian Standards
• Experience in winding design / Tank & externals is an advantage
• Experience on Microsoft office and tools.
• Ability to speak with and work together with the technical teams in different parts of the world.
• Demonstrated team building skills, would be a preference.
• Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
