Job summary

Ingersoll Rand plc seeks a Quality Control Engineer to assure product quality throughout manufacturing and support inspection, ERP transactions, audit compliance, and quality records management.

You will coordinate with Stores, Production, Procurement and Engineering to resolve quality issues and ensure adherence to ISO 9001 standards. Site-based role with potential supplier/customer travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3–6 years of quality control experience in manufacturing.
• Knowledge of ERP systems, engineering drawings, inspection tools, MS Office, English and Tamil.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate cross-functionally to ensure timely GRN clearance in ERP.
• Support production order closing activities in ERP.
• Follow up on rejected parts/materials and maintain records.
• Assist with ISO, customer and other audits and compliance.
• Maintain documentation for QAPs, third-party inspections and project orders.
• Perform basic product and system inspections as required.

Job Summary

The Quality Control Engineer will be responsible for ensuring product quality throughout the manufacturing process and supporting inspection, documentation, ERP transactions, audit compliance, and quality records management.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely GRN clearance in ERP.
• Support production order closing activities in ERP.
• Follow up on all rejected parts/materials, maintain records, and hand over to Stores.
• Provide support for ISO, customer, and other compliance audits.
• Collect and maintain documents related to approved QAPs, Third Party Inspections, customer orders, and project orders.
• Perform basic product and system inspections whenever required.
• Follow up daily on Pump Test Certificates (TCs) based on final inspection reports.
• Prepare and circulate pending GRN and PPM reports every Friday.
• Maintain rejection history records for both in-house and supplier-related quality issues.
• Support preparation of manuals, test certificates, and dispatch documentation for system deliveries.
• Maintain GRN clearance data in tracking sheets.
• Follow up QC godown stock statements and ensure timely clearance of materials.
• Coordinate with Stores, Production, Procurement, and Engineering teams to resolve quality concerns.
• Ensure compliance with company quality standards and applicable quality management systems.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field. 3-6 years.
• Quality control experience in manufacturing. Knowledge of ERP systems, engineering drawings, inspection tools, MS Office, English and Tamil.

Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements

Fully site-based role with occasional travel to supplier and customer locations.

Quality control, inspection techniques, ISO 9001, root cause analysis, attention to detail, communication, and teamwork.
