Job summary

Ingersoll Rand is seeking a System Test Lead to plan, design and execute end-to-end system testing for server applications communicating with networked devices. You will own test strategy, automation frameworks and ensure quality across deployments in a hybrid Bangalore-based environment.

The role requires 8+ years in testing with leadership exposure, strong experience in Linux, TCP/IP, cloud/IOT testing, and defect management tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
• 8+ years in testing with at least 2 years in a lead role
• Experience in test planning, execution & reporting

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to refine system requirements and ensure test coverage aligns with business goals
• Define and implement system-level test strategies for interacting with networked devices, with requirements traceability
• Develop test plans covering server functionality, device behavior, and integration scenarios
• Lead a team of testers and coordinate with development and product teams
• Drive automation for system-level tests and regression suites
• Manage defect tracking and root cause analysis
• Collaborate on release readiness and performance validation

Job & Division Summary:

The System Test Lead will be responsible for planning, designing, and executing end-to-end system testing for server applications that communicates with multiple networked devices. This role ensures the server and connected devices function as expected, covering configuration, data collection, and integration scenarios. The candidate will lead the testing strategy, plan and track execution, define automation frameworks, and ensure quality across deployments.

The system test lead will play a key role in driving our growth strategy through engineering excellence and delivering on our promise of reliability and superior customer experiences.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to refine system requirements and ensure test coverage aligns with business goals.
• Define and implement system-level test strategies for interacting with networked devices, with requirements traceability
• Develop test plans covering server functionality, device behavior, and integration scenarios.
• Lead a team of testers and coordinate with development and product teams.
• Drive automation for system-level tests and regression suites.
• Manage defect tracking and root cause analysis.
• Collaborate on release readiness and performance validation.

Mandatory Skills

• Strong experience in system testing Cloud or IOT Based software on linux
• Experience with testing web-based applications using HTTP/ HTTPS
• Familiarity with configuring & testing communicating over TCP/IP Networks.
• Knowledge of and hands-on experience in performance, scalability & reliability testing.
• Familiarity with security testing for cloud /IOT Based applications
• Expert-level knowledge of at least one defect management tool (eg. Jira, Bugzilla)
• Excellent analytical, planning and tracking skills

Desired Skills

• Test Certifications: ISTQB as advanced Test Lead, Certified Agile Tester, or similar.
• Experience with Test Automation Tools.
• Experience with white-box testing for data transfer & integrity
• Knowledge of security threat modeling, vulnerability assessment, and compliance testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Applications or equivalent.
• 8+ years in testing, with at least 2 years in a lead role
• Experience in test planning, execution & reporting
• Experience in reviewing the work of test engineers and guiding them

This position is based in Bangalore, India, with a hybrid work arrangement and minimal anticipated travel.
