Job summary

Ingersoll Rand is seeking an Engineer to support Electrical and Instrumentation across multiple product lines. The role includes training and rotation in Bangalore, with hands-on experience in design, wiring schematics, and project coordination with international teams.

Candidates should have 1–3 years in instrumentation/electrical fields, and be adept at interpreting P&ID, drafting control panels, and performing electrical calculations.

Qualifications

  • Engineering graduate/postgraduate with 1–3 years in Instrumentation/Electrical/Mechatronic Engineering.
  • Experience in interpreting P&ID and creating electrical drawings.
  • Knowledge of LV/MV/HV motors and control wiring.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Electrical and Instrumentation support for rotating equipment packages.
  • Collaborate with Europe-based project partners to deliver documents and drawings.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and customers to finalize P&ID and instrument design.
  • Develop project tracking mechanisms and align with master schedule.

Job & Division Summary:

This role for Engineer who can assist routine engineering and design responsibilities of the Engineering Technology center to support our diverse Product lines and global engineering teams.

The selected candidates will undergo basic training & pilot projects for the duration of minimum 3 months at Engineering technology center, Bangalore. Upon successful completion of training program and assessment, the individuals will be assigned to specific departments within engineering where they need to support Electrical and Instrumentation projects for Ingersoll Rand Products.

Responsibilities post completion of Training period:

  • Electrical and Instrumentation support for Rotating equipment packages for oil and Gas, Chemical Industries.
  • Work with project partners located in Europe to understand project requirements and deliver electrical and instrumentation engineering documents, data sheets and drawings.
  • Work with suppliers and customers to finalize P&ID and electrical-instrumentation design.
  • Develop project tracking mechanisms and create project plans for each project in alignment with master schedule developed by project partners.

Skills:

  • Engineering, selection and release of field instrumentation required as per customer specifications.
  • Interpreting P&ID, creating power and control wiring schematics for control panels, instrumentation systems in oil and gas industry.
  • Experience in understanding, creating and modifying SLD, Detailed wiring schematics, control panel drawings and specifications.
  • Experience in electrical calculations including power, load, cable sizing, incoming protection devices.
  • Knowledge of LV, MV, HV motors and starters selection.

Qualifications:

  • Engineering Graduate/Postgraduates with 1 to 3 years of experience preferably in Instrumentation / Electrical / Mechatronic Engineering.

IT and AI Skills:

  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite; basic coding skills (optional)
  • Understanding of AI Techniques including Prompt Engineering, Agents Creation and Content generation to enhance efficiency, improve System performance and Project capabilities.
