Job summary

Talent Hired-the Job Store seeks an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer for HV battery packs in EV and energy storage systems. You will own design Modeling, packaging and integration from concept to SOP, with strong CAE backing.

Role requires hands-on CAD work, GD&T, and collaboration with cross-functional teams including Electrical Design, Validation and Procurement. Hybrid or on-site setup in India is common for this role.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical design and product development for EV battery packs.
• Background in automotive systems or powertrain products is preferred.
• Proficiency with CATIA V5 for 3D CAD modelling and drafting.

Responsibilities

• Develop 3D CAD models, assemblies and detailed drawings for HV battery pack systems.
• Design enclosures, trays, covers, cooling plates, brackets and mounting components.
• Support packaging and vehicle-level integration; maintain BOMs and release packages.
• Perform strength, stiffness, thermal, vibration and durability calculations; incorporate CAE results.
• Generate GD&T manufacturing drawings; support Ansys Mechanical analyses.
• Assist material selection, value engineering and design-to-cost with suppliers.
• Apply DFM and DFA; support prototypes and SOP readiness; knowledge of metal casting, extrusion, welding etc.
• Support DVP&R, validation testing and root cause analysis; apply DFMEA and APQP changes.

Role & responsibilities

Position Summary

Own mechanical design, CAD modelling, structural and thermal analysis support and engineering documentation for HV battery packs for EVs and energy storage systems, from concept to SOP. The role reports to the Lead Mechanical Design (Battery Pack).

Experience framing: mechanical design and product development, with a core portion in EV battery pack, automotive systems or powertrain products.

5. Roles and Responsibilities

• Develop 3D CAD models, assemblies and detailed drawings for HV battery pack systems.
• Design enclosures, trays, covers, cooling plates, brackets, mounting systems and structural components.
• Support pack packaging and vehicle-level integration; maintain product structures, BOMs and release packages.
• Perform engineering calculations for strength, stiffness, thermal performance, vibration and durability; incorporate CAE findings.
• Generate manufacturing drawings with GD&T; support structural and durability analysis using Ansys Mechanical.
• Support material selection, value engineering and design-to-cost work with suppliers.
• Apply DFM and DFA; support prototype builds, fitment evaluation and SOP readiness; know sheet metal, machining, welding, die casting, extrusion, injection moulding and sealing processes.
• Support DVP&R, validation testing and root cause analysis; apply GD&T, DFMEA, APQP and change management.

Coordinate with Electrical Design, Battery Systems, Validation, Manufacturing, Quality and Procurement teams.
