Job summary

Zoho seeks an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to establish processes and tooling for battery modules/packs. You will create complex 3D models and 2D drawings in SolidWorks or CATIA, and design fixtures for assembly. The role requires tolerance analysis, HV safety awareness, and prototype support.

You will collaborate with Design, Quality and internal teams to optimize manufacturing strategies and work with suppliers on tooling and validation. On-site in Chennai, India.

Qualifications

• Experience in battery module/pack manufacturing.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks or CATIA for 3D/2D drawings.
• Familiarity with GD&T ASME Y14.5.
• Experience handling high‑voltage safety considerations.
• Hands-on with prototype builds and tooling concepts.

Responsibilities

• Work with the battery system manufacturing engineering team to establish processes and tooling for Modules/Packs and related components.
• Develop complex 3D assembly models and detailed 2D production drawings using SolidWorks or CATIA.
• Design and manufacture fixtures for module and pack assembly using SolidWorks or CATIA.
• Perform 1D, 2D, 3D tolerance stack-up analyses for battery assemblies.
• Coordinate with product design during concept phase for advanced tooling concepts.
• Support prototype builds and ensure process and tooling validation.
• Collaborate with Design, Quality and internal teams to define optimal battery manufacturing strategies.
• Collaborate during module/pack assembly processes (laser welding, adhesive dispensing).
• Engage qualified suppliers for tooling, validation and commissioning.

Job description

• work with High-Voltage battery system Manufacturing engineering team to establish manufacturing processes & tooling for Battery Modules/Packsand its related components.
• Developing complex 3D assembly models and detailed 2D production drawings using platforms like SolidWorks or CATIA.
• Design and Manufacture fixtures for battery module and pack assembly using SolidWorks or Catia.
• Perform 1D,2D,3D tolerance stack up analysis for battery assembly stack.
• Coordinate and work with product design team during initial concept designs phase for advance tooling concepts.
• Support in prototype builds and ensure the process and tooling design are validated.
• Collaborate closely with Design, Quality and internal teams to define optimal strategies in battery manufacturing.
• Collaborate during battery module and pack assembly process like Laser welding, Adhesive dispensing etc.
• Work with qualified suppliers for manufacturing the tooling, validation, commissioning etc.
• CAD Proficiency - Expert-level capabilities in industry-standard CAD software such as SolidWorks or CATIA
• Understanding of GD&TASME Y14.5 and its applications.
• Prior experience with lithium-ion cylindrical or pouch cell assembly and manufacturing and high-voltage safety.
