Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 3+ years in LV testing, commissioning, validation, or troubleshooting.
  • Experience with LV switchboards, PCCs, MCCs, Smart Panels, and protection systems.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement V&V protocols for LV control panels and electrical systems.
  • Execute detailed V&V tests to verify design, function, and safety.
  • Define test cases and validation methodologies with engineering teams.
  • Test LV systems for integration and reliability within subsystems.
  • Document findings, analyze results, and recommend improvements.
  • Maintain validation plans, test cases, and traceability.
  • Identify and resolve issues to improve system performance.
  • Review schematics, layouts, and architecture to align with validation.
  • Collaborate across teams to integrate validation into project timeline.
  • Set up test benches and architectures with bench design teams.
  • Drive test automation where feasible.

Job description

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and implement verification and validation test protocols for LV control panels and complex electrical systems.
  • Execute detailed verification and validation (V&V) tests to confirm compliance with system design, functional requirements, and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to define test cases, acceptance criteria, and validation methodologies for electrical systems, including automated controls and protection schemes.
  • Conduct thorough testing and validation of Schneider Electric LV systems, ensuring proper integration and reliable operation within LV control panels, motor management and protection sub-systems.
  • Document and report validation findings, analyze results, and provide recommendations for system enhancements and troubleshooting strategies.
  • Maintain and update testing documentation, including validation plans, test cases, traceability matrices, and technical reports.
  • Identify and resolve issues within control and protection systems, optimizing system performance and reliability through rigorous testing.
  • Review and interpret technical documents, including electrical schematics, panel layouts, and system architecture, to ensure alignment with validation protocols and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the integration of validation activities within the overall project timeline.
  • Bring up test bench and test architectures with the help of test bench design teams.
  • Identify and drive test automation wherever feasible in system verification and validation.
Qualifications & Skills
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, Industrial Automation, Electronics & Instrumentation, or a related discipline.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in testing, commissioning, validation, or troubleshooting of Low Voltage (LV) electrical distribution, motor control, and automation systems.
  • Experience working with LV switchboards, PCCs, MCCs, Smart Panels, Motor Management Systems, Protection Systems, and Industrial Control Panels.
Technical Skills
  • Strong understanding of LV electrical distribution systems, including:
    • Incomers, Outgoers, Feeders, Bus Couplers, Busbars, Distribution Boards
    • ACB, MCCB, MCB, MPCB, Contactors, Overload Relays, VFDs and Soft Starters
    • Earthing systems, Neutral arrangements, Short Circuit and Protection Coordination concepts
    • CTs, VTs/PTs, Energy Meters, Power Quality Meters, and Network Analyzers
  • Hands-on experience performing:
    • Functional Testing (FAT/SAT)
    • System Integration Testing
    • Protection Testing
    • Control Logic Verification
    • Electrical Safety Validation
    • Performance and Reliability Testing
    • Interlock and Sequence Testing
  • Ability to read, interpret, and troubleshoot using:
    • Single Line Diagrams (SLD)
    • General Arrangement (GA) Drawings
    • Wiring and Control Schematics
    • Protection Coordination Drawings
    • Communication Architecture Diagrams
  • Strong knowledge of electrical measurement and test equipment:
    • Multimeters
    • Power Analyzers
    • Oscilloscopes
    • Insulation Resistance Testers (Megger)
    • Secondary Injection Test Sets
    • Relay Test Equipment (Omicron, ISA, Megger, etc.)
  • Experience validating electrical protection functions including:
    • Overcurrent (50/51)
    • Earth Fault (50N/51N)
    • Undervoltage/Overvoltage
    • Phase Loss and Phase Imbalance
    • Motor Protection Functions
  • Knowledge of industrial communication protocols and system integration:
    • Modbus RTU/TCP
    • Ethernet/IP
    • IEC 61850
    • Profinet
    • OPC-UA (preferred)
  • Experience setting up and testing:
    • Smart Meters and Power Monitoring Systems
    • Circuit Breakers and Protection Relays
    • Motor Control Systems
    • Remote I/O Systems
    • PLC-based Automation Architectures
  • Experience developing automated test scripts using Python, LabVIEW, MATLAB, Robot Framework, or similar test automation tools is highly desirable.

  • Experience with SCADA, DCS, EcoStruxure, Wonderware, AVEVA, or equivalent supervisory systems.
  • Hands‑on experience with PLC programming (Schneider M580/M340, Siemens, Rockwell, etc.).
  • Relay configuration and protection coordination studies.
  • Experience with motor control centers (MCCs), variable speed drives (VFDs), and energy management systems.
  • Experience using Omicron Test Universe, CMC test sets, or equivalent protection testing platforms.
  • Exposure to cybersecurity testing of connected electrical systems and Industrial Ethernet networks.
