Job summary

Yokohama invites applications for an Engineer in Homologation & Certification based in Delhi. The role oversees regulatory compliance, testing and certification for PCR and two-wheeler tyres for domestic and export markets.

You will coordinate with QA and testing agencies, prepare technical documents and manage BIS/AIS certifications while tracking regulatory changes impacting products across global plants.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years in tyre homologation, regulatory affairs or product certification.

Job Description Engineer: Homologation & Certification

Department: Service

Job Purpose

Responsible for managing homologation and certification of Passenger Car (PCR) & 2W tyres for domestic and export markets, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage testing and certification of PCR/2W tyre under BIS (IS 15633; IS 15636 and IS15627) for both domestic and
• Responsible for tyre labeling requirement as BEE directives for domestic market, including tyre testing as per AIS-142 (RRC , Wet & Noise) and registration and certification on BEE portal
• Filing of monthly & quarterly production statement on BIS and BEE Portal
• Coordination with stake holders for timely application, audit and renewals of BIS certifications for all domestic and foreign manufacturing plants.
• Prepare and submit certification documents including annexures, technical documents and coordinate with QA and test agencies and maintain database of all certifications including approvals, extensions and renewals.
• Monitor regulatory changes and assess impact on existing and upcoming tyre products.
• Coordinate with Product, Quality, Manufacturing and Export teams for regulatory compliance.
• Interface with certification bodies and testing agencies IDIADA/TUV etc. and Internal testing team for UNEC certifications.
• Support certification audits and ensure plant compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Managing and support Type Approval Certificates – AIS 137, COP audit and compliance for various global plants.
• Managing AIS-142 and R117 Certification for OE sizes (Domestic & Import)

Additional Responsibilities

• Managing various on-ground monitor/Control Testing of PCR/2W Tyres
• Inspection and preparation of test reports with key management insights.
• Support for testing at NATRAX, GARC, ICAT for both regulatory and internal benchmarking.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Rubber Technology / Polymer Engineering.

Experience

3–6 years experience in tyre homologation, regulatory affairs or product certification.

Key Skills

• Deep understanding of tyre construction and regulatory standards, like IS 15633, IS 15636, IS 15627, AIS-142, AIS-037, R117, R30, R54 etc.
