Job summary

JobItUs in Pune, India, seeks a technical pre-sales and design specialist to develop optimized Solar PV and BESS solutions for commercial, industrial, and utility-scale projects. You will collaborate with sales teams, customers, consultants, EPC partners, and vendors to tailor configurations and win bids.

Responsibilities include proposals, BOMs, system sizing, SLDs, energy yield calculations, PVsyst simulations, and vendor evaluation; supporting tender submissions and handover to execution

Qualifications

• Experience in Solar PV and BESS projects is required.
• Ability to prepare detailed techno-commercial proposals.
• Familiarity with standards, regulations, and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Support sales teams in customer engagement by providing technical presentations, solution architecture, and design support.
• Understand customer requirements, site conditions, load profiles, and energy consumption patterns.
• Develop Solar PV and BESS system configurations based on customer needs and project objectives.
• Participate in customer meetings, technical discussions, tender evaluations, and consultant interactions.
• Conduct technical due diligence and provide solution recommendations.
• Prepare detailed techno-commercial proposals, BOMs, compliance matrices, and technical documentation.
• Create system sizing calculations for solar plants and battery energy storage systems.
• Develop single-line diagrams (SLDs), system architecture drawings, energy yield calculations, and preliminary layouts.
• Evaluate tender specifications and prepare bid submissions.
• Support estimation, costing, and profitability analysis of Solar & BESS projects.
• Perform solar energy generation simulations using PVsyst and similar software tools.
• Conduct performance ratio analysis, shading analysis, energy yield forecasting, and feasibility studies.
• Analyze battery sizing requirements based on backup duration, demand management, peak shaving, and renewable integration applications.
• Support preparation of ROI and payback calculations.
• Interface with inverter, battery, PV module, EMS, PCS, and BOS suppliers.
• Evaluate technical specifications and compare products from multiple vendors.
• Obtain quotations, technical data sheets, certifications, and compliance documents.
• Coordinate with suppliers during solution development and bid preparation.
• Track market trends, new technologies, product roadmaps, and cost developments.

The candidate will work closely with sales teams, customers, consultants, EPC partners, and technology vendors to develop optimized and competitive Solar & BESS solutions for commercial, industrial, institutional, utility-scale, and smart infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

Pre-Sales & Technical Support

• Support sales teams in customer engagement by providing technical presentations, solution architecture, and design support.
• Understand customer requirements, site conditions, load profiles, and energy consumption patterns.
• Develop Solar PV and BESS system configurations based on customer needs and project objectives.
• Participate in customer meetings, technical discussions, tender evaluations, and consultant interactions.

Proposal Management & Solution Design

• Prepare detailed techno-commercial proposals, BOMs, compliance matrices, and technical documentation.

• Coordinate with suppliers during solution development and bid preparation.
• Track market trends, new technologies, product roadmaps, and cost developments.

Cross-Functional Coordination

• Work closely with sales, engineering, sourcing, project execution, and service teams.
• Support project handover from sales to execution.
• Assist in technical risk assessment and project planning.
• Ensure proposal compliance with applicable standards, regulations, and customer specifications.

Quality Management and Assessment

• Regulatory & Statutory Compliance: Strong understanding of relevant regulations, standards, and compliance requirements such as CEA regulations, MNRE guidelines, IEC/IEEE standards, BIS requirements, electrical and fire safety requirements, and utility/Discom compliance requirements.
• Risk Assessment & Mitigation: Ability to identify technical, commercial, operational, and safety risks during solution design and proposal stages, and develop appropriate mitigation plans.
• System Reliability & Lifecycle Performance: Assessment of long-term reliability, battery lifecycle performance, warranty implications, maintainability, and asset optimization.
• Root Cause Analysis & Problem Solving: Lead technical troubleshooting and failure investigations, work with customers, suppliers, EPC partners, and internal teams to arrive at sustainable corrective actions.
