Job summary

Rehlko, a trusted leader in energy resilience, is seeking a Design Engineer to provide engineering design support in the Generator domain. You will manage projects individually or in teams to meet timelines and quality targets.

The role requires strong Creo Illustrate, CAD proficiency, and experience with Windchill PLM, SAP/ERP, and data management systems. You will mentor juniors and drive cost-saving design improvements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Engineering with min. 4–6 years of relevant experience.
  • Diploma with min. 8 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and analyze project requests, estimate scope and timelines.
  • Plan and propose solutions for large projects and independently manage small projects.
  • Work on SPD tasks and projects with Creo Illustrate and CAD tools.
  • Use PLM/Windchill and data management systems; integrate with SAP/ERP.
  • Provide design improvements and cost-reduction ideas.
  • Generate and manage daily time logs; update project status and databases.
  • Guide junior associates and ensure adherence to set processes.
  • Coordinate with business units to meet scope and quality requirements.

JOB DESCRIPTION FOR DESIGN ENGINEER Rehlko. Position Title: Design Engineer. Department: Industrial Engineering

BASIC FUNCTION

Provide Engineering Design support to business units by applying best practices in CAD Design in the domain of Generator. Managing projects individually as well as in a team environment by ensuring timeline and quality requirements from business units.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Receive and analyze project request through proper channel, and estimate the scope, timelines and any other specific requirements.
  • Should be able to assist in planning and coming up with solutions for large projects.
  • Should be able to independently handle small individual projects.
  • Should be able to work on SPD Tasks/projects.
  • Product Knowledge, Creo Illustrate, CAD and other software tools.
  • Should have work experience/ knowledge in the CAD tool (Creo).
  • Should be able to work on PLM (preferably Windchill) and data management systems.
  • Should be able to work on ERP (preferably SAP) systems under manager’s guidance.
  • Knowledgeable about manufacturing processes preferably sheet metal would add advantage.
  • In case of multiple projects on‑hand, prioritize the projects with close coordination with the business unit.
  • Should be able to assist in prioritizing medium projects and should be able to independently prioritize multiple small projects.
  • Execute/allocate the project requests by meeting the business unit requirements in respect to scope, timeline and specifics.
  • Work in coordination with reporting manager and team to execute and complete the project from start to end by ensuring timeline and quality.
  • Should be able to provide and seek solutions to resolve technical as well as non‑technical issues that may affect the project with a proactive approach.
  • Keep manager updated on all project related issues, concerns and achievements and seek his support whenever required.
  • Should be able to work and handle individual projects efficiently.
  • Seek and implement corrective actions and preventive measures regarding quality and timelines for the projects and maintain proper documentation under the guidance of the manager.
  • Provide value added suggestions for design improvements and cost reductions, wherever required.
  • Should be able to handle simple projects and contribute to complex projects under guidance of the superiors.
  • Generate and manage daily time logs and related reports.
  • Ensure project status is up to date.
  • Also update project information at the appropriate database.
  • Assist/ guide junior associates and trainees in documentation.
  • Ensure all set processes are followed with allowed deviation from the business units and develop as well as document new processes and design practices as per business needs.
  • Should be conversant with the set processes which relate to his/ her work function.
  • Consistently follow the set processes thoroughly.
  • Learn and adapt processes related to work function.
  • Ensure all Rehlko core competencies are well understood and practiced.
  • Should be eager to learn about the latest developments in the field of technology with respect to the job requirements.
  • Miscellaneous documentation as assigned.

  • Supervisory Relationships: Reports to Manager.
  • Organization Relationships: Equivalent counterparts of business units.
  • External Business Relationships: Third party service providers.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
