Job summary

Agratas – A Tata Enterprise in Bengaluru is seeking a Quality Project Engineer to drive APQP activities for our advanced product lines. You will coordinate cross-functional teams across product engineering, process engineering and project management to develop, execute, and review APQP deliverables during pre-SOP.

You will represent quality status to internal stakeholders and customers, promote continuous improvement, and leverage SharePoint, PowerApps and Power BI to report metrics and manage

Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience in APQP execution and development, ideally in a Tier 1 automotive supplier.
  • Degree in Engineering or a quality-related subject.
  • Experience in the automotive industry, preferably Tier 1 supplier environment.

Responsibilities

  • Representing Quality and the voice of the customer in product/process development for industrialization.
  • Ensure APQP framework is integrated into the master project plan.
  • Execute the APQP framework in assigned projects and report project quality status.
  • Facilitate cross-functional teams during deliverable development (Process flows, FMEA, Control Plan).
  • Leverage lessons learned to continuously improve quality deliverables.
  • Report on product development process status, risks and opportunities.

Job description

Purpose of the Role

As Quality Project Engineer, you'll be responsible for both developing and executing our advanced product quality planning (APQP) activities for specific products at Agratas. You will be part of a culturally diverse and highly professional global quality engineering team and will interface heavily with many parts of the business, most notably product engineering, process engineering and project management functions, as well as with the customer. You will co-ordinate, execute and evaluate APQP deliverables, maintaining a single source of the truth of quality in the pre-SOP phase for a specific component group. To do this you will need to draw cross-functional teams together to develop an aligned approach and drive the business forward towards success and so a strong sense of teamwork, proactivity and professionalism are required. You will represent and present the overall Quality Status internally and externally to the customer at regular intervals. Furthermore, in order to continually improve our APQP System, you will take specific APQP process elements, gateway reviews and reporting methods to develop and iterate towards best practice.

Representing Quality & the “voice of the customer” in the development of product and processes in the industrialization of products.

  • Ensuring the Agratas APQP framework is integrated into the master project plan.
  • Executing the Agratas APQP framework in assigned projects and regularly reporting the project quality status.
  • Facilitating cross-functional teams during the development of deliverables through the APQP process – e.g. Process flows, FMEA, Control plan etc.
  • Utilising lessons learnt during product development processes to ensure continuous improvement of our Quality deliverables.
  • Evaluating and reporting the output of APQP deliverables, acting as a checker to ensure both correctness and completeness of artefacts as well as supporting the interconnection between interdependent APQP elements.
  • Completing Change Management Impact Assessments and performing Problem Management Governance.
  • Reporting on product development process overall status, key risks and opportunities.
Job Context

3+ year’s experience in the execution and development of APQP, ideally at a Tier 1 Automotive Supplier.

  • Experience in developing new processes or heavily optimising existing processes.
  • Experience in customer engagement teams.
  • Educated to Degree level in an Engineering or Quality related subject.
  • Experience In The Automotive Industry, preferably In a Tier 1 Supplier Environment
Job Context Specific
  • Preferred: Change Management Impact Assessments and Problem Management Governance
  • Preferred: Certified 6 sigma Green Belt.
  • Preferred: Core Tools Certified (APQP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, PPAP / Control Plan)
  • Preferred: Experience with SharePoint, PowerApps and Power BI.
  • Nice to have: Experience in a start-up environment.
