Job summary

Eaton India Innovation Center in Maharashtra is seeking an Engineer- Aerospace Test Lab. The role focuses on performing and coordinating testing of aerospace hydraulic products and systems in accordance with defined procedures.

You will install and commission hydraulic test stands, run tests (pumps, valves, hoses), analyze results, and ensure ISO17025/AS9100 compliance while mentoring technicians.

Qualifications

• Graduate in Mechanical, Aerospace or Automotive engineering.
• 5–7 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience in aerospace hydraulic systems is preferred.
• Knowledge of ISO17025/AS9100 is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Install and set up hydraulic test stands and rigs.
• Conduct hydraulic and environmental tests per procedures.
• Troubleshoot test stands and update configurations.
• Lead test lab technicians and ensure timely test completion.

What You’ll Do

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the requirement of this position is to perform testing and provide assistance to engineering personnel to setup, install and on-time completion of accurate product and /or system testing in accordance with specific test procedures as defined by the Aerospace product engineering functions team.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the requirement of this position is to perform testing and provide assistance to engineering personnel to setup, install and on-time completion of accurate product and /or system testing in accordance with specific test procedures as defined by the Aerospace product engineering functions team.

Requirement Of This Position Is To Perform Testing And Provide Assistance To Engineering Personnel To Setup, Install And On-time Completion Of Accurate Product And /or System Testing In Accordance With Specific Test Procedures As Defined By The Aerospace Product Engineering Functions Team. The Position Requires To

• Perform installation of mechanical setups: sound knowledge of hydraulics
• Perform test setups in completion of specific and standard test processes for Hydraulic test stand and complete test requests within acceptable time.
• Perform the test of hydraulic products such as Pump, Valves, Hose Assy , Couplings, Environmental chambers and fitting as per the mentioned process (Aerospace AS , DO-160 or customer specified standard)
• Knowledge in LabVIEW, selection of components for fatigue testing (Impulse, burst etc.), Selection of appropriate sensors, valves with practical experience in developing customized solutions and implementing applications.
• Provide the recommendations to product team on design improvement based on the test results.
• Should able to trouble shoot and update the test stand for any new test requirement or standard
• Should design the test circuit with minimal support and build the same for testing.
• Standardization of test procedures in test lab and adhere to ISO17025 and AS9100 standards
• Implement (DMAIC / Lean) successfully in Laboratory . Improve productivity by standardization and continuous improvement, Participate & implement continuous improvement/ best practices, implement digitalization tools in lab
• Create SOP’s and processes / procedures for Individual test stands and implements in Lab
• Provide technical leadership to the test lab technician team and perform quality checks to ensure testing meets Eaton / Customer / International standards, Review and Approve the test request and provide feedback to test personnel

Qualifications

• Graduate in Mechanical, Aerospace , Automotive engineering
• 5 to 7 years of relevant work experience

Skills

-Essential Functions

• Good knowledge in Hydraulic and Pneumatic Systems and Equipment Development Lifecycle Expertise and demonstrated during equipment build
• Good knowledge in Pump selection, testing and its Assembly/Disassembly
• Analyzing mechanical assembly issues related to hydraulics components is most preferred.
• Troubleshooting elementary product and test rig issues, and performing data analysis required by the product group
• Understanding of data acquisition systems, hardware and software that are being used for testing
• Ability to fix issues with test rigs and lab and work with his peer engineer to improve or develop any new methods solving the issues
• Preferred reading fixture drawings
• Articulating and generating good technical reports based on test observations
• Train and monitor fellow technicians and drive completion of tests in prescribed time frame
• Work with engineers within group to define and perform custom testing as requested by customer
• Strive to meet test lab performance targets established in Balanced Score Card and ensure ISO compliance
• Required:

Product knowledge of aerospace hydraulic pumps, sensors, Hose assy. QD’s etc.

Sound experience to Lead design and development of new Hydraulics /Electromechanical equipment’s

Experience in assembly and tear down of hydraulic systems

Excellent problem solving and tests stand troubleshooting skill & well conversant with relevant tools like 8D (FRACAS) for the test lab Experience in test circuit design as per the requirement.

Awareness and experience in following Safety & Quality Management Practice

Experience on fault identification and able to propose corrective actions

Clear understanding about sensors, Diadem, electronic components of DAQ & control software i.e. LabVIEW etc.

Experience in problem solving & continuous improvement through LEAN tool deployment for test equipment utilization and cost savings
