Job summary

Eaton India Innovation Centre is seeking an Associate Engineer (Mechanical) to contribute to design, development, testing and sustenance activities for varied projects in India. You will study, modify, and enhance existing designs, applying DFSS, DFMEA and DVPR principles to meet customer requirements.

You will participate in proto-type builds, testing, and collaborate across functions to improve products and processes while maintaining robust design documentation and data control.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent is required.
• 0–2 years of relevant experience in mechanical design or product development.
• Proficiency in reading drawings, specifications and requirements.

Responsibilities

• Study, design and modify existing designs as per needs.
• Apply DFSS concepts, DFMEA, risk management & DVPR for new product development or improvements.
• Conduct proto-type build and performance/durability testing to meet customer requirements.
• Develop design standards and data control processes for the business group.
• Understand manufacturing processes to improve designs.
• Maintain communication with external customers for clarifications and field issue resolutions.

What You’ll Do

As an Associate Engineer, the incumbent would be working on product or technology groups with design, development, testing or sustaining engineering responsibilities. They have to study, design, make changes to existing designs as per needs, Accumulate product/technology knowledge and assess systemic improvements & sustenance. Plan their activities to achieve project timelines and deliverables. These engineers would be working for varied projects at Eaton India Innovation Centre.

• Perform engineering assignments, understand products & technologies, testing & specification of projects.
• Utilize DFSS concepts, DFMEA, Risk Management & DVPR for new product development &/or existing product improvements.
• Execute proto-type build, performance / durability testing, teardown of proto-type samples to evaluate product performance against customer requirements for concept level ideas as well as detailed design before product launch
• Creates and sustains process for design standards and procedures governing product design methods, documents and data control for the associated business group.
• Develop understanding of manufacturing processes to improve new and existing designs.
• Maintain credible communication practice with external customer on technical clarifications, testing & resolving of field failures.
• Learning agility to understand & assimilate varied technologies & product knowledge.

Qualifications

• B.E/B.Tech (Mechanical)
• 0-2 years of relevant experience

Skills

• Working knowledge of mechanical design principles
• Innovative mechanical design skills including but not limited to frequent use of 2D and 3D CAD (Creo and/or SolidWorks) modeling, and GD&T
• Ability to read and understand Drawings, Specifications, and Requirements
• Good product design ability (Both new product & product modificatio
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills needed.
• Ability to network and develop relationships with other Eaton Aerospace and non-Aerospace resources.
