Job summary

The Eaton India Innovation Centre in Pune invites an Associate Engineer to contribute to design, development, testing, or sustaining engineering projects. You will study existing designs, propose improvements, and plan activities to meet project timelines.

You will apply DFSS concepts, perform prototype builds, and conduct durability tests. Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration are essential to deliver robust products.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
• 0-2 years of relevant experience.
• Proficient in 3D CAD modeling (Creo/SolidWorks) and GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering assignments and understand products and technologies.
• Utilize DFSS concepts, DFMEA, Risk Management & DVPR for new product development or improvements.
• Execute prototype build, testing, and teardown to evaluate performance against requirements.
• Create and sustain design standards and data control for the design team.
• Develop understanding of manufacturing processes to improve designs.
• Maintain communication with external customers on technical clarifications and field issues.
• Demonstrate learning agility to absorb varied technologies and product knowledge.

Job description

What you'll do:

As an Associate Engineer, the incumbent would be working on product or technology groups with design, development, testing or sustaining engineering responsibilities. They have to study, design, make changes to existing designs as per needs, Accumulate product/technology knowledge and assess systemic improvements & sustenance. Plan their activities to achieve project timelines and deliverables. These engineers would be working for varied projects at Eaton India Innovation Centre.

• Perform engineering assignments, understand products & technologies, testing & specification of projects.
• Utilize DFSS concepts, DFMEA, Risk Management & DVPR for new product development &/or existing product improvements.
• Execute proto-type build, performance / durability testing, teardown of proto-type samples to evaluate product performance against customer requirements for concept level ideas as well as detailed design before product launch
• Creates and sustains process for design standards and procedures governing product design methods, documents and data control for the associated business group.
• Develop understanding of manufacturing processes to improve new and existing designs.
• Maintain credible communication practice with external customer on technical clarifications, testing & resolving of field failures.
• Learning agility to understand & assimilate varied technologies & product knowledge.

Qualifications:

• B.E/B.Tech (Mechanical)
• 0-2 years of relevant experience

Skills:

• Working knowledge of mechanical design principles
• Innovative mechanical design skills including but not limited to frequent use of 2D and 3D CAD (Creo and/or SolidWorks) modeling, and GD&T
• Ability to read and understand Drawings, Specifications, and Requirements
• Good product design ability (Both new product & product modificatio
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills needed.
