Job summary

Magna Electronics in Bengaluru seeks a radar DSP engineer to advance automotive sensing technology and deliver production-ready algorithms. You will work on DSP and ML for radar data, develop fusion with sensors, and contribute to system-level optimization.

Proficiency in MATLAB, DSP/FFT, and radar signal processing is required; familiarity with ISO 26262 and Euro NCAP considerations is a plus. You will collaborate across multidisciplinary teams in a global environment.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in MATLAB with experience in signal processing and prototyping.
• Knowledge of DSP, radar fundamentals, and ML approaches for radar data.
• Experience with FFT, filtering, spectrograms, time-frequency analysis, and CFAR/thresholding implemented.
• Familiarity with MIMO radar, AoA estimation techniques (MUSIC/ESPRIT/CAPON).
• Ability to translate research algorithms into production code.

Job Responsibilities:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong foundation in:
  • Digital Signal Processing (DSP)
  • Radar fundamentals (FMCW, chirp design, Doppler processing)
• Proficiency in MATLAB is mandatory, with extensive experience in:
  • Algorithm development and prototyping
  • Signal processing toolbox usage
  • Data visualization and analysis
• Experience with:
  • FFT, filtering, spectrograms, time-frequency analysis
  • Detection algorithms (CFAR, thresholding)
  • Statistical signal processing
• Good understanding of linear algebra, probability, and signal modeling
• Knowledge of:
  • Micro-Doppler analysis for human activity recognition
  • MIMO radar
  • Angle-of-Arrival estimation techniques such as MUSIC, ESPRIT, CAPON, etc.
• Experience with Deep Learning / ML models for radar data (CNNs, RNNs) is preferred
• Familiarity with:
  • Automotive safety regulations (Euro NCAP Occupant Monitoring)
  • Functional safety standards (ISO 26262)
• Experience in sensor fusion (radar + camera for driver monitoring)
• Experience translating research algorithms into production code
• Strong debugging and performance optimization capabilities
• Effective collaboration across multidisciplinary teams
