Job summary

Quest Global in Bengaluru seeks a 2D/3D Design Engineer to collaborate with mechanical, process, and project engineers on developing 2D drawings and 3D models for Energy projects at the execution stage.

You will prepare P&ID, PFD, and BFD diagrams using AutoCAD 2D and may use AVEVA P&ID, Plant 3D; familiarity with SolidWorks is a plus. Responsibilities include updating drawings with redlines and aligning with process inputs.

Qualifications

• Experience in preparing P&ID, PFD and BFD diagrams using CAD tools.
• Update drawings based on redlines and vendor inputs.
• Basic knowledge of 2D equipment layout and HFD development.
• Ability to assimilate Process Engineer inputs and coordinate communications.
• Ability to compare PFD/PID with vendor documents.
• Knowledge of tagging philosophy, styles and standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare P&ID, PFD and BFD diagrams with AutoCAD 2D.
• Incorporate redlines and vendor information into CAD drawings.
• Develop 2D equipment layouts and HFD from equipment lists.
• Coordinate with Process Engineers and other disciplines.
• Review P&ID and PFD against vendor documents.
• Adhere to tagging conventions and industry standards.

The 2D/3D Design Engineer is responsible for working with the discipline engineers including mechanical, process, project engineers in the development of 2D drawings and 3D modeling for Energy projects execution stage

Work Experience

Key Resposibilities

• Experience in preparing Piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&ID), Process flow diagram (PFD), Block flow diagram (BFD), using AutoCAD 2D
• Updation of drawings based on redlines, vendor drawings information incorporation in PIDs, PFDs etc is required.
• Basic knowledge on preparation of 2D equipment layout, HFD development from equipment list
• Ability to understand & incorporate Process Engineers inputs and communicate with them effectively
• Ability to compare PFD, PID with Vendor document is preferred
• Has good understanding on tagging philosophy, styles and standards.

Good To Have Requirements

• Ability to work with additional CAD tools like AVEVA P&ID, BIM, ACC, Smart P&ID,eBASE etc will be useful
• Experience working on 3D tools like Solidworks, Plant 3D for layout development will be added advantage but not mandatory
• Experience in reviewing P&IDs , layouts for water treatment plants or Oil and gas projects from CAD perspective
• Ability to participate in global design reviews, customer meetings
• Ability to learn and adapt to new tools and technologies
• Knowledge on Design tools, International codes and standards - ASME, DIN, EN, IS, BS, AS etc,
