Job summary

Talent Hired-the Job Store in Pune, India, is seeking an experienced Engine Design Engineer to lead the design and development of two-wheeler engine components from concept to production release. You will coordinate with testing, simulation, manufacturing, supplier, and cross-functional teams to improve engine performance, durability, manufacturability, cost, and quality.

Qualifications

• Must have two-wheeler engine design experience.
• Experience in engine R&D and prototype development.
• Familiar with GD&T and CAD/PLM tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of engine components from concept to production release.
• Develop new engine platforms and validate prototypes.
• Perform GD&T and design reviews.
• Manage CAD/PLM data and DMU workflows.
• Coordinate with testing, manufacturing, suppliers and QA.

Job description

Job Purpose

Lead the design and development of two-wheeler engine components and assemblies from concept design through production release. Drive engine performance, durability, manufacturability, cost optimization, and quality improvements while coordinating with testing, simulation, manufacturing, supplier, and cross-functional teams.

Role & responsibilities

Engine Design & Development

• Design and development of engine components such as:
  • Cylinder Head (SOHC/DOHC), Cylinder Block
  • Crankcase & Crankcase Covers, Head Covers
• Product design from concept to production release.
• Engine layout, packaging, and integration activities.
• Tolerance stack-up analysis and GD&T implementation.
• Design validation and design reviews.

New Product Development

• Development of new engine platforms for motorcycles and scooters.
• Prototype development and validation.
• DFMEA, DVP and engineering change management.
• Root cause analysis and design problem resolution.

CAD & PLM

• 3D modelling and detailing using:
  • CATIA V5, Creo, AutoCAD, Siemens NX / UG (preferred)
• Teamcenter / PLM data management.
• Digital Mock-Up (DMU).

Manufacturing & Casting Engineering

• Engine casting design and manufacturability improvement.
• Aluminum casting components development.
• Tooling and fixture reviews.
• Supplier coordination for prototype and production parts.
• Cost reduction and value engineering initiatives.

Cross Functional Coordination

• Work closely with:
  • Testing, Simulation, Manufacturing, Quality, Purchase, Suppliers
