Job summary

Udaya Technologies Pvt. Ltd. in Chennai seeks an experienced ELV Design Engineer to design, develop, and implement ELV systems for residential, commercial, and industrial projects.

You will create drawings, layouts, schematics and BOQ, ensure compliance with NFPA, BS, IEEE, and local codes, and coordinate with MEP, architectural, and civil teams through project execution. Strong knowledge of CCTV, Access Control, Fire Alarm, BMS, PA, IPTV and Structured Cabling is required, with 3-7 years of ELV

Qualifications

• 3-7 years of experience in ELV design and MEP projects.
• Strong knowledge of CCTV, ACS, Fire Alarm, BMS, and Structured Cabling.
• Familiarity with MEP integration and construction workflows.
• Certifications (Preferred): NFPA / BICSI / KNX / RCDD / PMP.

Responsibilities

• Design ELV systems including CCTV, Access Control, Fire Alarm, BMS, PA Systems, IPTV, and Structured Cabling.
• Prepare drawings, layouts, schematics, and BOQ.
• Ensure designs comply with NFPA, BS, IEEE, and local codes.
• Develop technical specifications, scope of work, and reports.
• Coordinate with MEP, architectural, and civil teams for seamless integration.
• Assist in tender documents, RFPs, and cost estimates.

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled ELV Design Engineer to join our MEP team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing Extra Low Voltage (ELV) systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project requirements. The role requires expertise in CCTV, Access Control, Fire Alarm, BMS, Public Address, Structured Cabling, and other ELV systems for residential, commercial, and industrial projects.

Key Responsibilities

ELV System Design & Engineering:

• Design ELV systems, including CCTV, Access Control, Fire Alarm, BMS, PA Systems, IPTV, and Structured Cabling.
• Prepare detailed drawings, layouts, schematics, and BOQ (Bill of Quantities).
• Ensure designs comply with international standards (NFPA, BS, IEEE, and local codes).

Technical Documentation & Coordination:

• Develop technical specifications, scope of work, and reports for ELV systems.
• Coordinate with MEP, architectural, and civil teams to ensure seamless integration.
• Assist in preparing tender documents, RFPs, and cost estimates.

Project Execution & Supervision:

• Provide technical support during installation, testing, and commissioning of ELV systems.
• Work closely with contractors, vendors, and suppliers for material selection and compliance.
• Conduct site inspections and ensure quality control of ELV system installations.

Compliance & Standards:

• Ensure adherence to local and international codes (NFPA, BS, NEC, IEEE, etc.).
• Stay updated with the latest ELV technologies and best practices.

Key Skills & Requirements

Education: Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Electrical / Electronics / Communications Engineering or equivalent.
Experience: 3 - 7 years of experience in ELV design & MEP projects.
Technical Expertise:

• Strong knowledge of CCTV, ACS, Fire Alarm, BMS, and Structured Cabling.
  Project Knowledge: Familiarity with MEP integration and construction workflows.
  Certifications (Preferred):
• NFPA / BICSI / KNX / RCDD / PMP certification is a plus.
  Soft Skills: Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
