The role focuses on translating business needs into IT solutions, coordinating with internal teams and EDI vendors, and ensuring seamless onboarding and ongoing EDI enhancements for CMA CGM’s shipping operations.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology or a related discipline.
• Approximately 6–8 years of experience supporting time-critical EDI applications, preferably in shipping/logistics.

Responsibilities

• Collect and advise on EDI requirements during the requirements phase.
• Provide expertise in scoping and validate EDI specifications.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and vendors for partner onboarding and enhancements.
• Deliver timely status updates on onboarding and enhancement activities.
• Participate in testing and support users during UAT.
• Lead investigations on critical incidents.
• Monitor system performance and initiate improvement actions.

EDI The role of Business Analyst, EDI at CMA CGM focuses on managing and enhancing the Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) system, a critical application within the shipping domain. This system is divided into two parts: the front-end, which handles data mapping and communication protocols using IBM ITX, SBI, and MQ products, and the backend, which contains business data and integration rules supported by legacy Oracle databases and modern Transportation Management systems Role Overview and Responsibilities The Business Analyst is tasked with analyzing EDI requirements specific to the shipping industry and facilitating the onboarding and maintenance of CMA CGM’s EDI partners.

Key responsibilities include:

• Collecting and advising on EDI requirements during the requirement phase.
• Providing expertise in the scoping phase and validating EDI specifications.
• Collaborating with internal stakeholders and vendors to drive partner onboarding and enhancements while monitoring progress.
• Delivering timely status updates on onboarding and enhancement activities.
• Participating in testing phases and supporting business users during user acceptance tests.
• Leading investigations on critical incidents.
• Monitoring system performance and initiating improvement action plans are required.
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral, are essential, alongside the ability to translate business requirements into IT solutions and build effective working relationships with EDI vendors, business users, and customers

Minimum Requirements Candidates should possess:

• A degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related discipline from a reputable institution.
• Knowledge of the shipping domain, supply chain, or logistics, with the ability to take initiative and work autonomously.
• Approximately 6 to 8 years of experience supporting time-critical EDI applications, preferably within shipping, supply chain, or logistics sectors.
• Capability to understand business needs and translate them into IT solutions.
• Effective communication skills suitable for a global, multicultural environment.
• Proven experience managing multiple medium-to-complex IT projects involving collaboration between business users and internal IT teams.
• Understanding of EDI formats such as EDIFACT and ANSI/X12, with the ability to interpret implementation guides into logical specifications.
• Knowledge of ITX mapping tools and configuration of communication setups using SBI tools.
• Proficiency in SQL queries within an Oracle environment; Oracle certification is considered an advantage.
