Job summary

Kennametal Inc. seeks skilled technicians for machine sub-assembly, assembly, and installation at customer sites. The role emphasizes hands-on experience with Special Purpose Machines and a strong ability to read drawings and maintain tight geometrical tolerances.

Ideal candidates have ITI background and are familiar with machine layouts, spindles, slides, columns, feed drives, gear boxes and safety practices. Kannada language skills are preferred along with English and Hindi.

Qualifications

• Candidate must have hands-on experience with sub-assemblies, assembly of spm/ vm systems, and installation at customer sites (6–8 years for ITI candidates).
• Ability to read part and assembly drawings and understand machine layouts.
• Knowledge of geometrical tolerances and measuring tools; basic hydraulics, pneumatics, coolant systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform sub-assembly of machines and components.
• Assemble machines and perform on-site installation at customer locations.
• Ensure adherence to safety standards and PPE requirements.

Desired Skills And Experience

• Should have 6 to 8 years of hands on experience for ITIs candidates in sub-assembly, assembly of Special Purpose Machines, VTLs, Tool & Cutter Grinders.
• Basic knowledge & exposure to Machine Sub-assemblies like Spindle, Slide, Column, Feed drive, Rotary tables, Gear boxes, work handling etc.,
• Hands on scrapping experience
• Ability to understand part drawings, assembly drawings & machine layout
• Knowledge of Geometrical accuracies like straightness, squareness, concentricity, TIR, parallelism, measuring instruments etc.,
• Basic knowledge of Hydraulics, Pneumatics , Coolant systems & circuits
• Basic knowledge of drills, taps, size selection- Metric & BSP, etc.,
• Fundamentals of Safety & PPE
• Basic communication skills – Kannada. English & Hindi preferred
