Job summary

Kennametal is seeking an Executive Application Engineer in Bengaluru to drive application engineering for automotive components. You will program, prove out parts on VMC/HMC machines, interpret drawings, and interact with customers to deliver project milestones.

The role requires 5–8 years of relevant experience, strong CAD skills, and hands-on tooling and fixture knowledge. Willingness to travel and station at customer sites is expected.

Qualifications

• DME with 5 to 10 years or BE in Mechanical/Industrial Production with 5 to 8 years in Application Engineering.
• Strong knowledge of machining of 2 Wheeler & 4 Wheeler engines, transmissions and braking components.
• Hands-on application engineering on VMC/HMC.
• NC programming on Fanuc, Sinumerik, Heidenhain & Mazatrol controllers.
• Exposure to macro programming and Auto work measurement (Renishaw/Marposs).
• Familiarity with cutting tools and fixture concepts.
• Ability to read drawings and understand quality requirements, CMM/inspection.
• Understanding process capability and fixture concepts for VMC/HMC.
• Customer need understanding and good communication.
• Awareness of hydraulic, pneumatic and coolant circuits.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks (or other 3D tools).

Responsibilities

• Part programming and proving out of components at customer location.
• Be willing to be stationed at customer location for 1-3 months.
• Know fixture assembly and related concepts.
• Troubleshooting fixtures and tooling.
• Interface with customer for project execution and completion.

Job Summary

• DME with 05 to 10 years of experience or BE in Mechanical / Industrial Production with 5 to 8 years of experience in Application Engineering & prove out of Auto components on HMC/VMC
• Good Process knowledge of Machining of 2 Wheeler & 4 Wheeler Engine, transmission and braking components

Years of Relevant Work Experience Required: 5-8 Years

Preferred Areas Of Education, Certifications, And Skills

• BE (Mechanical / Mechatronics /Prod. Engg) DME*
• Overall experience for Degree holder in Application Machine Tool /field & at least last 3 years in Field Sales /Pre – Sales experience
• Strong ability to understand customer's issues and to tackle problems independently. Comfortable with taking responsibility and to meet with customer expectation.
