Job summary

Univastu India LTD is seeking an experienced Electrical MEP Engineer for metro rail projects in Pune. You will execute electrical scope, study drawings and BOQs, and perform quantity surveying to ensure accurate material take-offs and cost control.

Coordinate with vendors, PMC, and clients to meet safety standards and project timelines. The role involves preparing BOQs, rate analyses, and tender documentation, while supporting billing, certifications, and variation claims.

Responsibilities

• Execute electrical MEP works for metro rail projects and coordinate with site, PMC, clients and consultants.
• Study drawings, specifications, BOQs and tender documents; perform quantity take-off.
• Prepare BOQs, cost reconciliations and rate analysis for extra items as per site needs.
• Coordinate material approvals, data sheets, and third‑party tests; track procurement and deliveries.
• Support billing, certification and variation claims; assist cost control and value engineering.

Role & responsibilities

• Responsible for MEP (Electrical) works execution and coordination for metro rail projects.
• Carry out detailed study of drawings, specifications, BOQs, and tender documents related to electrical & allied MEP systems.
• Perform quantity surveying:

Taking out accurate quantities from approved drawing.

Preparing BOQs and quantity reconciliation statements.

• Obtain rates from vendors/subcontractors, prepare comparative statements, and recommend technically & commercially viable options.
• Prepare rate analysis for non‑BOQ / extra items as per specifications and site requirements
• Coordinate with vendors for material approvals, technical submittals, data sheets, and compliance with project specifications.
• Handle material tracking, including procurement status, delivery schedules, and site consumption.
• Ensure material testing and inspection follow‑ups, including coordination for third‑party and statutory tests.
• Coordinate effectively with site execution teams, PMC, clients, consultants, and other stakeholders.
• Attend technical and coordination meetings; prepare MOMs and ensure timely closures.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety norms, and project timelines.
• Support billing, certification, and variation claims related to electrical MEP works.
• Assist project management in cost control, value engineering, and risk mitigation.

Key Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of Electrical MEP systems for metro/infrastructure projects
• Proficiency in quantity take-off, rate analysis, and vendor coordination.
• Good understanding of Indian Standards, Metro specifications, and safety norms.
• Ability to interpret GFC drawings, schematics, and specifications.
• Strong coordination, communication, and documentation skills.
• Working knowledge of MS Excel, AutoCAD, and basic project management tools

Preferred candidate profile

• Minimum 4 to 9 years of relevant experience, preferably in Metro Rail / large infrastructure / EPC projects .
• Exposure to working with PMC and Government/Client organizations will be an added advantage.
