Job summary

Zetwerk in Bengaluru seeks a senior Railway EPC Project Head to lead end-to-end execution across track laying, civil structures, signaling, and electrification. You will drive schedules, budgets, and client interfaces to ensure on-time delivery and profitability.

You will manage multi-disciplinary teams, navigate EPC/FIDIC contracts, and coordinate with procurement for critical materials while maintaining HSE and QA/QC compliance.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech in Civil or Electrical Engineering with 14–20 years of infra experience.
• 8+ years core execution, contract administration, and operations experience in Railway, Metro or EPC projects.
• Interfacing with authorities such as Indian Railways, RVNL, IRCON, RITES or Metro Corporations.
• Deep knowledge of P-Way, civil structures, USSOR rates, CPWD norms, EPC/FIDIC contracts, and variation/EOT claims.
• Proficient in Primavera P6, MS Project, AutoCAD, and SAP/Oracle ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Direct all phases of railway EPC project execution from site mobilization to testing and handover.
• Develop and monitor master schedules using Primavera P6 or MS Project.
• Manage project P&L, budgets, cash flow, and CVR to maximize profitability.
• Interface with key clients (Indian Railways, RVNL, IRCON, RITES, Metro authorities) and secure approvals.
• Administer EPC, Item Rate, and FIDIC contracts; identify and de-risk commercial exposure.
• Formulate, substantiate, and negotiate variation orders, USSOR, PVC, and EOT claims.
• Lead multi-disciplinary site teams, planning engineers, QS teams, and subcontractors.
• Collaborate with central procurement to ensure timely delivery of rails, sleepers, turnouts and optimize machinery utilization.
• Enforce HSE and QA/QC standards in line with Railway Safety Norms.
• Maintain transparent project MIS and report progress to leadership and client representatives.

• Direct all phases of railway EPC project executionincluding track laying, civil structures, signaling, OHE, and earthworksfrom site mobilization through testing and handover.
• Develop and monitor master project schedules using Primavera P6 or MS Project to ensure timely milestone completion.
• Manage project P&L, site operational budgets, cash flow, and cost value reconciliations (CVR) to maximize profitability.
• Serve as the primary interface for key clients (Indian Railways, RVNL, IRCON, RITES, Metro Authorities) and secure necessary statutory approvals and safety certifications.
• Administer client and subcontractor contracts (EPC, Item Rate, FIDIC), identifying and de-risking commercial exposure early.
• Formulate, substantiate, and negotiate variation orders, extra item rates (USSOR), price variation bills (PVC), and Extension of Time (EOT) claims.
• Lead, mentor, and coordinate multi-disciplinary site engineering teams, planning engineers, QS teams, and subcontractors across execution zones.
• Collaborate with central procurement to ensure timely delivery of critical railway materials (rails, sleepers, turnouts) and optimize heavy machinery utilization.
• Enforce strict health, safety, environment (HSE), and quality control (QA/QC) standards in full alignment with Railway Safety Norms.
• Maintain transparent project MIS, reporting progress, risks, and financial health directly to executive leadership and client representatives.

Preferred candidate profile

• Hold a B.E. or B.Tech in Civil or Electrical Engineering with 14 to 20 years of overall infrastructure experience.
• Possess at least 8+ years of core execution, contract administration, and operational experience in Railway, Metro, or Railway Electrification EPC projects.
• Demonstrated track record of interfacing with major authorities such as Indian Railways, RVNL, IRCON, RITES, or Metro Corporations.
• Possess deep technical knowledge of P-Way, civil structures, USSOR rates, CPWD norms, EPC/FIDIC contracts, and variation/EOT claims.
• Proficient in Primavera P6, MS Project, AutoCAD, and SAP/Oracle ERPs with proven leadership in managing multi-disciplinary site teams.
