Job Description: Electrical Technician – Manufacturing Facility
Department: Maintenance (Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering or related field).
Job Responsibilities:
- Equipment Maintenance & Repair
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on machinery used in label printing (e.g., flexo and rotogravure) and disposable product manufacturing (e.g., thermoforming machines, paper cup forming machines).
- Diagnose and fix electrical issues in motors, drives, control panels, sensors, and wiring systems.
Electrical System Management
- Inspect and maintain plant electrical systems to ensure continuous power supply to machinery, utilities, and facilities.
- Troubleshoot electrical faults in control systems, power distribution panels, and automation systems.
Automation & Control
- Install and maintain automation systems including PLCs (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley, B&R) and HMIs.
- Ensure synchronization of electrical systems with mechanical operations for efficient production.
- Have basic knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Assist in installing and setting up new machines and equipment.
- Commission equipment to ensure operational readiness and safety compliance.
Safety & Compliance
- Adhere to electrical safety protocols as per OSHA, NEC, and local regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments and safety audits on electrical installations and repairs.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain logs of all electrical repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities.
- Update equipment manuals and wiring diagrams after modifications.
Coordination & Support
- Collaborate with production supervisors, mechanical technicians, and quality control teams.
- Provide on-site technical support during equipment malfunctions to minimize downtime.
Qualifications:
Education: Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering or related field.
Experience: 2–5 years in an industrial or manufacturing environment, preferably with label production and disposable items. Experience with high-speed machinery and utilities like chillers, boilers, and air compressors.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in troubleshooting AC/DC circuits, motor drives, and automation systems.
- Ability to read electrical diagrams, blueprints, and basic mechanical and pneumatic drawings.
- Familiarity with industrial automation, control systems, and safety devices.
Additional Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, including rotating shifts, weekends, or nights.
- OSHA 10/30 or equivalent safety certification.
- PLC programming training or certification.
