Job summary

SHYAM METALICS AND ENERGY LIMITED in Indore is seeking an AGM/DGM – Electrical & Automation Head for the Wire Rod Mill. You will lead plant automation, drive efficiency, and manage maintenance and safety across high-speed mill lines.

The role requires 15–20 years in Integrated Steel or Wire Rod mills, strong PLC/HMI expertise, and proven leadership of large teams; reporting to Plant Head. This is a senior, on-site leadership role with CAPEX modernization responsibilities.

Qualifications

• 15–20 years of experience in integrated steel plants, hot rolling or wire rod mills.
• Strong hands-on expertise in Electrical & Automation systems, PLC, HMI, AC/DC drives and HT/LT systems.
• Experience in RCA, TPM, preventive/predictive maintenance and electrical schematic interpretation.

Responsibilities

• Lead plant automation, Level-1 & Level-2 control, PLC logic, HMI and drive systems across major platforms.
• Drive predictive, preventive and breakdown maintenance for mill stands and related controls.
• Manage 33kV/6.6kV distribution, switchgears, transformers and energy-efficiency initiatives.
• Lead reliability programs, RCA and continuous improvement across the Wire Rod Mill.
• Oversee Electrical Engineering teams, ERP/SAP spares management and safety compliance.
• Drive modernization, automation upgrades, commissioning and CAPEX initiatives.

AGM / DGM – Electrical & Automation Head | Wire Rod Mill

Location: Indore / Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh

Experience: 15–20 Years | Qualification: B.E./B.Tech – Electrical / Electronics

Age Within 45 Years

Reporting to: Plant Head/WRM Unit Head

Core Responsibilities

• Plant Automation & Control: Lead Level-1 & Level-2 automation, PLC logic, HMI and high-speed synchronized AC/DC drives across Siemens, ABB or TMEIC platforms.
• Electrical Maintenance: Drive predictive, preventive and breakdown maintenance for continuous mill stands, high-speed blocks, laying heads, Garrett coilers and reheating furnace controls.
• Power & Energy Management: Manage 33kV/6.6kV HT/LT distribution, switchgears, transformers, PCC/MCC panels and drive energy-efficiency initiatives.
• Reliability & Improvement: Lead RCA, TPM, breakdown reduction, equipment reliability and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Team & Resource Leadership: Manage Electrical Engineering and shift execution teams, critical spares through ERP/SAP, and ensure adherence to plant safety protocols.
• Projects & Automation Upgrades: Drive modernization, automation enhancement, commissioning and CAPEX initiatives for the Wire Rod Mill.

Candidate Profile

• 15–20 years of strong industrial experience in an Integrated Steel Plant / Hot Rolling Mill / Wire Rod Mill.
• Strong hands‑on expertise in Electrical & Automation systems, PLC, HMI, AC/DC Drives and HT/LT systems.
• Proven experience in RCA, TPM, preventive/predictive maintenance and electrical schematic interpretation.
• Candidates from Primary Steel / Secondary Steel / Long Products with Wire Rod or Rolling Mill exposure preferred.
• Strong leadership capability with experience managing large multidisciplinary teams.
