PN Gro Bio in Telangana seeks an Electrical Instrumentation Engineer/Technician to perform preventive and corrective maintenance across a Biogas plant. You will troubleshoot motors, drives, panels and electrical systems to minimize downtime and ensure reliable operation.
Responsibilities include PLC/SCADA fault support, interlocks, sensor and transmitter checks, and collaboration with instrumentation/automation teams. On-site work with safety procedures is essential.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance of all electrical equipment across the Biogas plant.
Ensure maximum electrical equipment availability and minimum plant downtime through timely troubleshooting and maintenance.
Troubleshoot electrical faults in:
Maintain and troubleshoot AC motors, VFDs, soft starters, DOL/star-delta starters, contactors, relays, MCCs, PCCs and control panels.
Maintain and monitor the plant's LT electrical distribution system, including:
Monitor electrical parameters such as voltage, current, power factor, kW, kVA, frequency and motor loading and identify abnormal operating conditions.
Perform routine inspection of motors, panels, cables, VFDs, transformers and electrical connections for overheating, abnormal noise, loose connections and insulation deterioration.
Carry out motor insulation resistance testing, cable testing, earth resistance testing and other electrical health checks as per the maintenance schedule.
Maintain and troubleshoot VFDs and motor control circuits, including parameter checking, fault diagnosis and resetting.
Support troubleshooting of PLC, SCADA, instrumentation, sensors, control valves and interlocks in coordination with the automation/instrumentation team.
Understand and troubleshoot process interlocks and emergency shutdown circuits associated with the CBG plant.
Support installation, testing and commissioning of new electrical equipment during plant expansion, modification and optimization.
Maintain electrical systems associated with biogas purification, compression and CBG storage/cascade systems.
Ensure electrical equipment installed in hazardous/gas areas is properly maintained and operated in accordance with applicable safety requirements.
Coordinate with production, mechanical, instrumentation and process teams to identify the root cause of equipment failures.
Respond immediately to electrical breakdowns and critical plant trips, including during night shifts and emergencies.
Maintain detailed records of:
Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for recurring electrical failures and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Maintain adequate stock of critical electrical spares and coordinate with stores/procurement for timely replenishment.
Assist in identifying opportunities for energy reduction and improvement of plant electrical efficiency.
Ensure strict compliance with LOTO, Permit-to-Work, PPE, electrical isolation and CBG plant safety procedures.
Should be capable of systematically troubleshooting faults rather than relying only on component replacement.
Experience with biogas, oil & gas, chemical or other hazardous process industries will be preferred.
Knowledge of hazardous-area classification and Ex equipment will be a significant advantage.
Minimum Qualification:
ITI Electrical / Diploma Electrical / B.E. or B.Tech Electrical / Electrical & Electronics
Experience:
37 years industrial electrical maintenance experience preferred.
Experience in CBG/biogas, ethanol, chemical, food processing, oil & gas, power or other process industries preferred.
