Job summary

Burns & McDonnell India is seeking a design engineer with 2–3 years' experience to join our Water Group in Mumbai. You will design and draft electrical and control systems for water and wastewater treatment facilities, and model equipment in Revit.

This role emphasizes coordination with multidisciplinary teams, adherence to standards, and delivering high-quality, timely drawings. Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, and strong English communication are essential.

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering required.
• 2-3 years of experience in design for water/wastewater facilities.
• Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD and Plant 3D.
• Strong English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and drafting of construction drawings for electrical and control systems in industrial and municipal water and wastewater treatment facilities.
• 3D modelling of electrical & instrumentation equipment in Revit.
• 2D design and detailing for medium and low voltage one-line drawings, layout of electrical equipment, cable tray, conduit, duct bank, area classification, panel design, motor schematics, wiring diagram, grounding system, lighting systems, and instrumentation layout using Revit and AutoCAD.
• Collaboration with engineers and designers across multidisciplinary teams to ensure design coordination and compliance with project and industry standards.
• Coordination with multiple BMcD offices for project execution and design consistency.
• Support development of innovative design solutions and contribute to continuous improvement in design practices.
• Ensure all deliverables meet defined quality standards, adhere to project schedules, and client expectations.

Your Responsibilities:

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) / Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Electrical Engineering

Experience:

Years of Experience: 2-3 years

Technical Skills Required:

• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Plant 3D for Electrical design and coordination.

• Experience in industrial and municipal water and wastewater treatment projects.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.
