Job summary

Tractebel, part of the ENGIE Group, seeks a Manager / Senior Manager Electrical for Renewable Energy in Gurgaon on site. You will lead electrical design for utility-scale solar, wind, hybrid, and storage projects across India and beyond, delivering safe, compliant, and efficient solutions.

You'll collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, perform system studies, and support pre-bid and engineering reviews. A strong electrical background and 8+ years in renewables are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 8+ years of renewable energy engineering experience.
• Experience with utility-scale solar/wind projects.
• Familiarity with IS/IEC/IEEE/CERC MNRE standards.
• Proficiency in PVsyst or SAM.
• Good English communication and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design and detailed engineering for solar PV, wind, hybrid, and storage projects.
• Develop general arrangement layouts, cable routing, earthing, lightning protection, and inverter station designs.
• Perform electrical calculations including short circuit, load flow, and relay coordination.
• Support pre-bid engineering and owner's / lender engineering reviews.
• Prepare techno-commercial feasibility studies and energy yield assessments using PVsyst/SAM.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across geographies and travel to sites.
• Progress toward independent project management after mentoring.

Manager / Sr. Manager Electrical – Renewable Energy

This role puts you at the heart of sustainable energy development. You will design, review, and deliver electrical engineering solutions for utility-scale solar, wind, hybrid, and storage projects — contributing directly to a cleaner energy future for millions.

What You'll Do

• Lead electrical design and detailed engineering for solar PV, wind, hybrid, and energy storage projects across national and international markets.
• Develop general arrangement layouts, cable routing, earthing systems, lightning protection, and inverter station designs for large-scale PV plants.
• Perform electrical calculations and system studies including cable sizing, battery sizing, short circuit analysis, load flow, and relay coordination.
• Support pre-bid engineering, Owner's Engineering, and Lender's Engineering by reviewing design documents and ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
• Prepare techno-commercial feasibility studies, Detailed Project Reports, resource assessments, and energy yield assessments using tools such as PVsyst and SAM.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across geographies to deliver projects on time and within scope.
• Progress toward independent project management responsibility after an initial mentoring period.

What You Bring

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (essential); Master's in Energy Studies, Renewable Energy, or related field (preferred).
• 8+ years of experience in renewable energy engineering, preferably within a consulting environment.
• Strong knowledge of solar power plant design on both DC and AC sides, including relevant IS, IEC, IEEE, CEA, CERC, and MNRE standards.
• Proven experience in electrical system studies and detailed engineering deliverables for utility-scale renewable projects.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and energy simulation software such as PVsyst or SAM.
• Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to write technical reports and present findings clearly.
• Strong organizational skills, a collaborative mindset, and willingness to travel to project sites.
