Responsibilities

• System Design: Develop electrical system designs based on project specifications and create detailed drawings, plans, and schematics for construction teams to follow.
• Code Compliance: Ensure all designs and installations comply with relevant local, national, and international electrical codes and standards.
• Budgeting and Cost Estimation: Prepare cost estimates for electrical components and labor, and monitor and manage the electrical budget throughout the construction project.
• Project Planning: Collaborate with other engineering disciplines and project managers to integrate electrical systems into overall project plans; develop schedules, timelines, and milestones related to electrical work.
• Coordination with Other Trades: Coordinate with architects, civil engineers, and other construction professionals to integrate electrical systems with overall building plans, ensuring alignment with other construction elements.
• Procurement: Specify and procure electrical materials and equipment needed for the project, and evaluate and select appropriate vendors and suppliers.
• Installation and Construction Oversight: Supervise and inspect the installation of electrical systems to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards; troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during construction.
• Testing and Commissioning: Conduct tests on electrical systems to verify functionality and safety, and oversee the commissioning process to ensure proper operation and integration of all components.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of designs, installations, and modifications; create as-built drawings reflecting the final state of the electrical systems.
• Safety Compliance: Implement and enforce safety protocols for electrical work, ensuring all installations meet safety regulations and standards.
• Maintenance and Support: Provide ongoing support for electrical systems after construction completion, developing maintenance plans and schedules for components.
• Technology Integration: Stay current with advancements in electrical technology and integrate innovative solutions into construction projects when applicable.
