Job description

Role- Electrical Engineer

Exp- 12+ Years

Location - Ahmedabad

Key responsibilities

• Establish, recruit and develop the Electrical Engineering team in India, including engineers, technicians and CAD/BIM designers.
• Plan workloads, assign responsibilities and manage engineering deliverables, resources and deadlines across multiple projects.
• Lead and technically oversee HV/EHV substation engineering
• Coordinate primary systems, protection and control, SCADA, substation automation, communications, AC/DC auxiliary power and electrical interfaces with civil and structural disciplines.
• Lead and support electrical engineering for Indian port, maritime, industrial and infrastructure projects, including power distribution, substations, transformers, HT/LT systems, cables, earthing, lightning protection, lighting and auxiliary systems as applicable.
• Lead technical reviews and ensure consistency between calculations, specifications, drawings, models and other engineering deliverables.
• Establish internal checking and approval procedures before submission of documentation to clients or the European Head Office.
• Coordinate design interfaces with the European Head Office, Indian project teams, equipment suppliers, clients, consultants and external specialists.
• Oversee technical specifications, equipment requirements, vendor documentation and engineering inputs to procurement packages.
• Work with BIM coordinators and designers to ensure model quality, multidisciplinary coordination and compliance with agreed BIM requirements.
• Manage technical queries, design changes and review comments through to closure.
• Report progress, resource requirements, delivery risks and corrective actions to project and management leadership.
• Provide technical inputs to proposals, scopes, man-hour estimates and evaluation of new engineering opportunities when required.
• Contribute technically to the development of the Indian Branch Office's electrical engineering and industrial capabilities.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 12 to 15 years of relevant engineering experience, with significant experience in HV/EHV electrical engineering and substation design.
• Proven experience in 220400 kV substations, including substantial experience with 400 kV projects and GIS and/or AIS technology.
• Strong technical grounding in substation primary design, with sufficient understanding of secondary systems, protection and control, auxiliary power and civil/structural interfaces to lead multidisciplinary coordination.
• Experience delivering FEED, basic engineering or detailed design packages for utilities, EPC contractors, engineering consultancies, industrial facilities or infrastructure projects.
• Practical experience managing engineers, technicians and dedicated CAD/BIM drafting teams.
• Working knowledge of relevant IEC standards and applicable Indian standards and regulations.
• Experience with design quality assurance, document control, change management and engineering schedules.
• Fluent professional English, including the ability to lead technical meetings and produce clear written reports.
• Ability to work effectively with international teams and maintain agreed working-hour overlap with the European Head Office.
