Job summary

IDOM in New Delhi is seeking a Design Engineer Electrical with hands-on experience in electrical detail design for industrial projects. You will perform lighting calculations, earthing, protection studies, and prepare SLDs, schematics, and equipment layouts for power plants, refineries, and related facilities.

You will handle equipment specifications, bid analyses, vendor drawings, and ensure compliance with IS/IEC/IEEE/EN/NEC codes. ETAP exposure is desirable.

Qualifications

• Basic engineering like Lighting calculation (using Dialux), Earthing and Lightning protection calculation, Sizing calculations for Transformer, Switchgear, Cables etc. Preparation of Single Line Diagrams and schematics for Electrical Systems of Industrial Projects.
• Detail Engineering: Specifications, Equipment data sheets, Technical Bid Analysis, Vendor Drawings review, equipment layouts.
• Cableways, Lighting, Earthing & Lightning Protection layouts with Bill of Quantity and cable schedules.
• Familiar with standards and international codes IS, IEC, IEEE, EN, NFP, NEC.
• Desirable: ETAP knowledge (load flow, short circuit, motor starting, relay coordination, harmonic studies).
• Good team handling and cross functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Carry out basic engineering like Lighting calculation (Dialux), Earthing and Lightning protection calculations, sizing for Transformer, Switchgear, Cables, and prepare Single Line Diagrams and schematics for Electrical Systems of Industrial projects.
• Detail Engineering for Equipment data sheets, Technical Bid Analysis, vendor drawings review, and equipment layouts.
• Detail Engineering for Cableways, Lighting, Earthing & Lightning Protection layouts with BOM and cable schedules.
• Work with applicable standards and international codes (IS, IEC, IEEE, EN, NFP, NEC).
• Desirable ETAP knowledge: load flow, short circuit, motor starting, relay coordination, harmonic studies.

Job description

Candidate should be from Design consulting Background, working experience in basic and detail designing specially with Industrial Sector ( Power plants, oil and gas etc.)

4. 4.Familiar with the applicable standards and international codes (IS, IEC, IEEE, EN, NFP, NEC, etc.)
