Job summary

Tractebel in India seeks engineers with strong knowledge of solar power plant design, including DC and AC aspects, to support pre-bid engineering, owners engineering and detailed design activities.

You will contribute to General Arrangement layouts, cable routing, earthing, lightning protection, and inverter station planning, and perform electrical calculations and studies. Familiarity with IS/IEC/IEEE standards and energy yield assessment using PV SYST/SAM is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have good knowledge of solar power plant designing concepts (DC and AC).
• Support in pre-bid engineering, Owners Engineering and Detailed engineering design.
• Knowledge in creating General Arrangement Layouts, cable routing, earthing, lightning protection, lighting, MCR and inverter stations.
• Experience with electrical calculations and studies such as cable sizing, earthing, battery sizing.
• Familiarity with electrical system studies: short circuit, load flow, relay settings and coordination preferred.
• Knowledge of IS, IEC, IEEE standards and guidelines (CEA, CERC, MNRE) is required.
• Experience in techno-commercial feasibility studies, Detailed Project Reports, resource assessment and energy yield assessment for Solar PV projects.
• Experience using PV SYST, SAM for energy yield calculations will be an added advantage.

Job description

• Must have good knowledge of solar power plant designing concepts i.e DC side as well as AC side
• Must be able to provide support in pre bid engineering, Owners Engineering (Review of Design Documents) and Detailed engineering design
• Must have knowledge and experience in developing General Arrangement Layout of PV Plant, cable routing, earthing, Lightning protection, lighting, Main Control Room, Inverter Station etc.
• Must have experience and knowledge in all electrical calculation and studies i.e. cable sizing, earthing, battery sizing etc.
• Knowledge and experience in Electrical system studies Short circuit, Load flow, relay setting and coordination etc. is preferable
• Must have knowledge of all relevant standards and guidelines i.e. IS, IEC, IEEE, International Guidelines, Guidelines issued by CEA, CERC, MNRE etc.
• Experience in independently preparing Techno-commercial feasibility study, Detailed Project Report, Resource assessment and Energy Yield Assessment for Solar PV projects
• Experience to carry out energy yield for solar plants independently using simulation software such as PV SYST, SAM, etc will be an added advantage
