Job summary

Nidec Power in Bengaluru, India, is seeking an Er./Sr. Engineer - Electrical Design to drive AC generator design by coordinating with the team and cross-functional partners.

You will perform electrical design calculations, create drawings and BOMs, select suitable generators per customer specs, and develop material and testing specifications.

The role emphasizes cost reduction, VAVE, and collaboration with Sourcing, MED, Production, QA and support teams, with hands-on rotating machines experience.

Qualifications

• Diploma or BE in electrical engineering.
• 6+ years (Diploma) or 3+ years (BE) of relevant experience.
• Hands on electromagnetic design of rotating electrical machines.
• Excellent computer and presentation skills.
• Fluent in English, Hindi and Kannada.

Responsibilities

Job description

The Er./Sr. Engineer - Electrical Design will be responsible for carrying out the design of AC generator by coordinating with the team & drive the project. Understand, analyse and coordinate with project team members to drive the project & coordinate with cross function teams to bring design for, 'Sourcing, Manufacture, Assembly, Quality, Maintenance, Reliability and cost.'

Core Responsibilities:

To work independently and carryout electrical design calculations

To create electrical drawings, schematics and BOM

To understand the customer specification requirement and select/build the suitable generators

To create specification for material, process, testing, installation and maintaining of the product.

To work on cost reduction and VAVE of the product

To support Sourcing, MED, Production, QA, customer support

• To deliver on time, error free electrical concepts, model, design, drawings, BOM, E-specs etc.,
• Cost optimization through VAVE principles
• Standardizing and improving productivity of engineering outputs

Independently working the Electrical design & development of rotating electrical machines of size 5kVA to 15,000kVA. Shall have hands on experience in electrical design using tools & analytical calculations in project / NPD designs.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

• Diploma/bachelor's in electrical engineering.
• Minimum of 6+ years for diploma and 3+ years for BE of relevant experience with good list of accomplishments.
• Hands on with the electromagnetic design of rotating electrical machines
• Excellent Computer and presentation skills.
• Language(s) & level: Fluent in English, Hindi and Kannada.

• Shall possess knowledge of electrical basics, electromagnetism/circuits, electrical materials
• Product experience from Rotating machines manufacturing industries.
• Shall have good knowledge on testing of electrical machines
