Job summary

Alstom Transport India Ltd in Coimbatore is seeking a full-time Buyer to lead supplier selection, contract execution, and procurement projects in the electrical domain. You will collaborate with Global Procurement, Platform & Project teams, and Suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and quality.

The role requires strong sourcing, negotiation, and contract management skills, along with fluency in English and comfort working in a matrix environment across functions and countries.

Qualifications

• Experience in sourcing and procurement with strong contract management knowledge.
• Ability to work in a matrix organisation with multiple teams and stakeholders.
• Fluent English and excellent communication skills for international collaboration.
• Structured, results-driven approach and understanding of ethical procurement practices.
• Experience in supplier negotiations and risk assessment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and launch RFQs with suppliers and lead project negotiations.
• Monitor QCDT and legal evolution of procurement projects and enforce milestones.
• Set up full supplier selection processes and manage supplier contracts.
• Support commodity strategies and build strong supplier relationships.
• Coordinate projects with Global/Regional Procurement, Legal, Engineering, and Finance teams.
• Ensure on-time delivery and quality, especially during ramp-up; manage risks.

Your future role Take on a new challenge and apply your procurement and supplier management expertise in a cutting-edge field. You'll work alongside collaborative and dynamic teammates. You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the success of procurement projects by managing supplier relationships and driving project outcomes. Day-to-day, you'll work closely with teams across the business (Global Procurement, Regional Procurement, Platform & Project teams, Supplier Quality, Supply Chain, Legal, Finance, Engineering, and Services), lead supplier contract execution, and monitor project milestones - and much more. You'll specifically take care of setting up the full supplier selection process and managing supplier contracts, but also support commodity strategies and build strong supplier relationships.

We'll look to you for:

• Preparing and launching requests for quotations with suppliers
• Leading project negotiations
• Monitoring procurement project QCDT (Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Technical) and legal project evolution
• Ensuring work package sheet commitment respect
• Preparing business awards
• Promoting Alstom's Code of Ethics and adhering to the highest standards of ethical conduct
• Managing contracting activities and supplier contract execution
• Coordinating projects with all relevant stakeholders
• Ensuring on-time delivery and quality, particularly during the ramp-up phase
• Supporting commodity strategy development and implementation
• Building and maintaining strong supplier relationships
• Monitoring supplier performance and implementing improvement plans
• Assessing and mitigating risks associated with suppliers
• Upholding Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) commitments

• Fluency in English
