Job summary

Alstom is seeking a Domain Manager - Electrical in Bangalore, bringing technical leadership to manufacturing engineering. You will lead the Manufacturing Engineering team, drive industrialization of new products, and collaborate across Engineering, Project Management, and Production to ensure successful delivery.

The role emphasizes staffing, skill development, and deployment of industrial standards while maintaining data integrity and supporting production with technical guidance.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Engineering or equivalent, preferably in Electrical Engineering.
  • 15-17 years of experience in manufacturing or manufacturing engineering, ideally within the railway industry.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) for BOMs, Routings, and Configuration follow-up.
  • Knowledge of quality, EHS standards, and ergonomics.
  • Familiarity with CAD and PLM tools (e.g., CATIA, DELMIA).

Responsibilities

  • Lead and shape the Manufacturing Engineering team to industrialize new products.
  • Drive continuous improvement and provide technical support to manufacturing.
  • Deploy industrial tools and processes and ensure data accuracy.
  • Staffing, training, and development for the team with induction programs.
  • Coordinate with Project teams on industrialization deliverables.

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your technical leadership expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside dynamic, collaborative, and innovative teammates.

You’ll lead and shape the Manufacturing Engineering team, ensuring the successful industrialization of new products and driving continuous improvement efforts. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (Engineering, Project Management, and Production), provide technical support to manufacturing, and implement industrial standards and methodologies.

You’ll specifically take care of managing the team’s performance and development, but also oversee the deployment of industrial tools and processes.

We’ll look to you for:

Defining and updating procedures, methodologies, and ways of working for the Manufacturing Engineering team

Ensuring proper staffing and skill development for the team, including training and induction programs

Deploying industrialization standards such as Method Time, EHS, Ergonomics, Work Instructions, and more

Supporting industrialization deliverables in coordination with Project teams

Ensuring the quality and accuracy of master data, work instructions, and task sequencing

Providing technical support during production and first article manufacturing

Driving productivity actions and continuous improvement initiatives

A degree in Engineering or equivalent, preferably in Electrical Engineering

15-17 years of experience in manufacturing or manufacturing engineering, ideally within the railway industry

Technical expertise in process engineering, lean manufacturing, and writing manufacturing work instructions

Experience working with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) for Bill of Materials, Routings, and Configuration follow-up

Hands‑on experience in looming, cabinet process development, and electrical integration

Knowledge of quality, EHS standards, and ergonomics

Familiarity with CAD and PLM tools (e.g., CATIA, DELMIA)

Understanding of methodologies like Process FMEA, QRQC, and APSYS

Strong communication, organizational, and decision‑making skills
