Job summary

Agp International Services seeks an experienced offshore electrical instrument technician to support maintenance and testing across motors, transformers, breakers, CT/PT, and cables. You will perform advanced insulation and oil tests, PTW/LOTO, and coordinate with engineering teams to meet project schedules.

Ideal candidates have ITI in Electrical Instrumentation, offshore credentials (BOSIET), and 8–15 years in oil, refinery, or heavy industry, with ability to read instrument drawings and

Qualifications

• ItI Diploma in Electrical Instrumentation Engineering.
• Offshore experience with BOSIET certification.
• 8–15 years in Oil & Gas, refinery, petrochemical, or heavy industry.
• Experience reading Instrument drawings, layouts, PLC, SCADA, and technical docs.

Responsibilities

• Testing and maintenance of motors, transformers, breakers, CT/PT, and cables.
• Megger (IR), PI test, winding resistance, bearing inspection.
• Bus bar and power connection tightening checks.
• Visual inspection and cleaning of panel boards, junction boxes, marshalling cabinets and cable trays.
• Implemented PTW and LOTO procedures.
• Transformer inspection incl. temp/pressure gauges, BDV oil tests.
• Switchgear testing incl. interlocks, relay verification, mechanical ops.
• Breaker testing (ACB, VCB, MCCB) incl. CT/PT tests.
• Cable testing incl. continuity and insulation resistance.
• Coordinated with engineering, commissioning, and construction teams to ensure safe, timely E&I activities.
• Installation and testing of HV/MV/LV equipment including transformers, switchgears, MCC panels, VFDs, UPS.

Role & responsibilities - OFFSHORE

• Testing and maintenance of motors, transformers, breakers, CT/PT, and cables.
• Performed Megger (IR), PI test, winding resistance, bearing inspection.
• Conducted bus bar and power connection tightening checks.
• Visual inspection and cleaning of panel boards, junction boxes, marshalling cabinets and cable trays.
• Implemented Permit to Work (PTW) and Lockout Tag out (LOTO) procedures.
• Transformer inspection including temperature/pressure gauge checks, oil BDV and oil sample tests.
• Switchgear testing including interlock checks, relay verification and mechanical operations.
• Breaker testing (ACB, VCB, MCCB) including:
• CT/PT testing including ratio, polarity, insulation resistance and HV testing.
• Cable testing including continuity and insulation resistance tests.
• Coordinated with engineering, commissioning, and construction teams to ensure safe and timely completion of E&I activities according to project schedule.
• installation and testing of HV/MV/LV electrical equipment, including.
• Transformers Switchgears MCC panels VFD Drivers UPS systems

Preferred candidate profile

• Qualification: ITI Diploma in Electrical Instrumentation Engineering.
• Offshore Experience with ( BOSIET CERTIFICATION)
• Experience: 8-15 years in Oil & Gas, Refinery, petrochemical, or heavy industry.
• Experience working in Oil and Gas Sector.
• Ability to read Instrument drawings, Layout, PLC, SCADA, and technical documents.
