Job summary

Agp International Services in Chennai, India seeks an experienced Electrical Instrument Engineer to install, maintain and test high-grade electrical systems in heavy industry. The role requires adherence to electrical codes and safety standards.

You will inspect equipment, perform checks on transformers, protection relays and switchgear, and coordinate with project teams on Cold/Hot work permits. 8–15 years in Oil & Gas or petrochemical sectors are preferred.

Qualifications

• ITI Diploma in Electrical Instrument Engineering.
• 8-15 years in Oil & Gas, refinery, petrochemical, or heavy industry.
• Experience working in Oil and Gas Sector.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and technical documents.

Responsibilities

• Installed and maintained various electrical systems, equipment and components per electrical codes and regulations.
• Maintained, repaired and tested electrical systems to ensure proper operation.
• Inspected and tested electrical system equipment to identify hazards, defects and needed repairs.
• Conducted transformer RTCC parallel operation checks, OLTC, WTI, OTI settings, CT tests, and cooler control checks.
• Knowledge of transformer stability, transformer protection (differential, REF, SEF), and busbar protection; hipot testing of cables and busbars; switchgear feeder protection relays.
• MV/LV cable installation and management; installation of switchgear including hi-pot testing and Megger testing; taking work permits for cold/hot jobs.

• Knowledge of Transformer stability, Transformer Differential protection, REF protection, SEF protection, and Busbar protection. Hipot testing of cables and busbars. Knowledge about Switchgear Feeder Protection Relays.
• MV s LV cable installation s cable management..Installation of switchgears including hi-pot testing s Megger testing. Taking Work Permit of COLD s HOT Jobs.
