Job summary

Kirloskar Brothers Limited in Maharashtra is seeking a Safety Officer to lead plant safety inspections, manage operation and maintenance of ETP and STP, and ensure compliance with SPCB and CPCB regulations. You will drive accident reporting, organize safety committee meetings, conduct inductions, and coordinate PPE procurement with stores.

The role requires TPM SHE experience and proactive incident prevention in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety from MSBTE.
• MSc / MTech in Environment Engineering or Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical.

Responsibilities

• Carry out plant safety inspections.
• Operate and maintain ETP & STP.
• Ensure legal compliances related to SPCB & CPCB.
• TPM SHE pillar compliances.
• Maintain accident reporting system and investigate incidents and corrective actions.
• Organize departmental safety committee meetings and follow up.
• Safety work permit implementation & site visit.
• Assist in ensuring PPE availability with purchase and store departments.
• Attend Sunrise meetings with frontline employees.
• Inspect fire extinguishers and arrange servicing; conduct safety induction training.
• Collect, collate and report sustainability data.
• Conduct toolbox talks.
• Evaluate effectiveness of actions taken to reduce incidents.
• Arrange contractor safety committee meetings and review.

Role & responsibilities

• To carry out plant safety inspections.
• Operation and maintenance of ETP & STP.
• Ensure legal compliances related to SPCB & CPCB.
• TPM SHE pillar compliances.
• Maintaining accident reporting system & First aid accident investigation and corrective and preventive actions.
• To assist in organizing departmental safety committee meetings and follow up.
• Safety work permit implementation & site visit.
• To do follow up in purchase and store departments in ensuring availability of personal protective equipment
• Attending Sunrise meetings to have dialogues with front line employees.
• Safety Shoes and apron finalization and distribution.
• To assist in conducting mock drills.
• To inspect the fire extinguishers and arrange to service. Conduct safety induction training.
• Collection and collation and reporting Sustainability data.
• Conduct tool box talk.
• To evaluation of the effectiveness of action taken to reduce incidents. Like safety meeting, awareness communication through mail.
• Arrange contractor safety committee meetings and review.
• To respond to employees safety concerns.
• Lock out tag out implementation.
• On line incident tracking system follow up of unsafe condition/unsafe action reporting and promoting

Preferred candidate profile

• Analyse safety data, carry out trend analysis, monitor safety performance, prepare reports (documents, presentations)
• Operation & Maintenance of ETP & STP.

Legal compliances related to SPCB & CPCB.

Education:

Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety from MSBTE.
