Job summary

Britannia in Bengaluru, India seeks an EHS professional to implement and monitor safety policies across biscuit manufacturing operations. You will oversee risk assessments, audits, machine guarding, LOTOTO/Permit-to-Work systems, and health & safety programs for employees and contractors.

Responsibilities include driving BBS initiatives, incident investigations, and regulatory compliance while promoting a safe, healthy work environment on site.

Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor EHS policies, SOPs, and safe work practices
• Ensure compliance with machine guarding, LOTOTO, Permit-to-Work, and PPE requirements
• Conduct risk assessments, HIRA, workplace inspections, and safety audits
• Identify and control workplace hazards related to biscuit manufacturing operations
• Ensure safe working practices for mixing, baking, cooling, packing, material handling, and warehouse/depot operations
• Monitor and improve machine safety and guarding across production areas
• Implement LOTO/LOTOTO and Permit-to-Work systems for maintenance and other high-risk activities
• Conduct fire safety inspections, emergency drills, and emergency preparedness activities
• Provide EHS induction, toolbox talks, safety training, and awareness programs for employees and contractors
• Implement and promote BBS (Behaviour-Based Safety) programs to improve safe behaviour and employee participation
• Investigate accidents, near misses, first-aid cases, and unsafe conditions and ensure timely CAPA closure
• Monitor contractor and visitor safety
• Promote occupational health and workplace safety through regular inspections, health programs, and risk control measures
• Maintain statutory EHS records and support inspections by regulatory authorities
• Monitor safety performance through leading and lagging safety indicators
• Drive Safety Kaizen, BBS, safety campaigns, and continuous improvement initiatives
