Job summary

Diageo is seeking an experienced EHS professional to lead environment, health and safety operations at the Baramathi Unit. You will implement EHS principles, monitor KPIs, and act as the liaison between corporate EHS and regional/unit management for safety matters.

You will drive EHS governance, conduct audits, coordinate trainings, and oversee reporting of accidents and compliance. A strong background in chemical/mechanical manufacturing and a commitment to safety is required.

Qualifications

  • 8-10 years of overall relevant manufacturing operations experience in EHS portfolio.
  • B.Tech/BE Chemical & Mechanical preferred; B.Sc/ Environment/ ADIS certification mandatory.
  • Good communication and influencing skills.

Responsibilities

  • Implement operational EHS principles, standards and guidelines in the unit.
  • Assist in EHS governance through systems and procedures implementation.
  • Provide real time information to facilitate policy/strategy formulation and updates.
  • Monitor EHS KPIs and performance at unit level.
  • Serve as interface between corporate EHS and regional/unit management for safety matters.
  • Communicate EHS principles, standards and procedures to all unit personnel.
  • Coordinate periodic EHS meetings and management reviews; support compliance.
  • Conduct EHS training for all personnel in the unit.
  • Conduct environment, safety and fire audits; plan and monitor corrective actions.
  • Consolidate MIS on accidents, safety and environment performance for unit management.
  • Develop inputs for environment & safety promotional activities.

About the role:
1 Planning
  • Implement operationally the laid down EHS principles, standards and guidelines procedures in the Unit
  • Assist in EHS Governance through Systems & Procedures implementation in the unit
  • Provide real time information to facilitate policy/strategy formulation/ updation
  • Monitor implementation of EHS KPIs and EHS performance at unit level
  • Be the Interface between Corporate EHS representatives & Regional/ Unit Management for safety related matters
2 Communication
  • Communicate the laid down EHS principles, standards, guidelines procedures to all personnel in the Unit
  • Co-ordinate periodic EHS Meetings (monthly) , Management Reviews and provide guidance for EHS Statutory Approval & Compliance
  • Conduct EHS Training for all personnel in the unit
3 EHS Performance
  • Conduct need based Environment, Safety and Fire audits for the unit
  • Plan, implement and monitor corrective actions in the unit
  • Ensure serious Accidents are reported & investigated with root cause analysis
4 Reporting
  • Consolidate MIS on Accidents, Safety & Environment Performance to Unit Management to facilitate corrective actions/ decisions
  • Develop inputs for Environment & Safety Promotional activities
Experience / skills required:

Qualification: B. Tech/BE (Chemical & Mechanical - Preferred), B.Sc/ Any Qualification/Certification in Environment/ADIS (Mandatory)

Experience: 8-10 years of overall relevant manufacturing operations experience in EHS portfolio

Knowledge & skills:
  • In-depth Knowledge of manufacturing operations and EHS implications
  • Knowledge on statutory compliance norms on EHS
  • Good understanding of EHS systems, processes, mechanisms
