Job summary

PeopleStrong in India is seeking an EHS professional with PGDIS to oversee environmental, health and safety programs across Hazira operations.

You will conduct inspections, monitor regulatory compliance, perform HIRAC, and drive training, incident reporting and emergency drills.

This on-site role partners with supervisors and contractors to uphold safety standards and maintain EHS documentation.

Qualifications

• Requires Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Safety (PGDIS)
• Experience with EHS programs and regulatory compliance is preferred
• Ability to lead safety trainings and audits within a manufacturing/industrial setting

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections of machinery and PPEs to ensure safety
• Monitor compliance with EHS legal/regulatory requirements at operations
• Identify hazards and perform Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRAC)
• Perform environmental impact analysis to meet standards
• Coordinate safety trainings, toolbox talks and awareness programs
• Maintain EHS documents, reports and statutory records
• Report incidents and support investigations using Root Cause Analysis and 5 Whys
• Track EHS metrics like incidents and training compliance
• Coordinate with supervisors/contractors to enforce safety protocols
• Support emergency drills and fire safety measures

Job Description

• Conduct routine inspections of machines, material handling equipment, lifting tools & tackles, PPEs, and fall protection systems.
• Monitor compliance with EHS legal and regulatory requirements at the operational level.
• Identify workplace hazards and conduct Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRAC).
• Perform environmental aspects and impact analysis to ensure compliance with environmental standards.
• Participate in toolbox talks, safety training, and awareness programs.
• Assist in preparing and maintaining EHS documentation, reports, and statutory records.
• Report incidents and support investigations using techniques like Root Cause Analysis and 5 Whys.
• Monitor EHS performance metrics such as incident rates, near misses, and training compliance.
• Coordinate with supervisors and contractors to ensure adherence to safety protocols.
• Support implementation of emergency preparedness drills and fire safety measures.
