Job summary

United Way Mumbai invites applications for Project Pragati in Malad and Kurnool. The role focuses on creating enabling environments for about 2,000 girls from low-income communities, spanning education, health, livelihood and community engagement.

You will conduct daily remedial classes, develop grade-level lesson plans, and support holistic development through parent meetings and home visits. Travel within assigned locations is required, with a monthly salary range of 20,000–25,000 INR.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Social Sciences or Education is required.
• 1–2 years of teaching experience in schools or educational centres is needed.
• Strong written and oral communication skills; capable of engaging with diverse stakeholders.
• Proficiency in English, Hindi and Telugu is essential.

Responsibilities

• Manage activities and deliverables of United Way Mumbai's Project Pragati.
• Conduct daily remedial classes for children in schools and community centres.
• Create grade-level lesson plans for subjects and grades assigned.
• Support students to reach grade-level mastery through in-class assistance.
• Meet with parents/guardians regularly to aid holistic development of children.
• Conduct need-based home visits when required.
• Secure parent participation for project activities.
• Document activities and report status to the donor on time.

Job Overview:

Project Pragati, envisages the creation of enabling environments for approximately 2,000 girls from low-income communities to help them excel in their lives. The project aims to achieve this through the implementation of various activities in 4 key areas; education, health, livelihood, and community engagement.

Job Responsibilities:

• Manage activities and deliverables of United Way Mumbai s Project Pragati.
• Conduct daily remedial classes for children in schools and community centres assigned to you.
• Create grade-level lesson plans based on the subjects and grades assigned to you.
• Contribute towards enabling the children to reach grade-level mastery through in-class support.
• Contribute towards the holistic development of the children through conducting regular and/or needs-based meetings with parents/guardians.
• Conduct need-based home visits.
• Garner support from parents for their participation in various project activities.
• Document the project activities and outcomes on a regular basis and submit the project status report to the donor as per the committed timelines.

Profile Requisites:

• Master s/Bachelor s degree in Social Sciences/Education (specialization in Education will be preferred).
• Minimum of 1-2 years of work experience in teaching at schools or other educational centres.
• A dynamic and versatile person who can easily connect and work effectively with internal and external stakeholders of the project.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Efficient in community outreach and mobilization.
• Must be proficient in communicating in English, Hindi, and Telugu.
• Must be a team player and willing to travel to implement programme activities.

Remuneration:

Subject to relevant qualification, experience merit; the salary is 20,000 - 25,000 per month
